📢 Alabama Families: Medical Consent Law Update

As of October 1, 2025, the age of medical consent in Alabama has officially changed.

👉 Before Oct 1: Teens 14+ could consent to many medical, dental, and mental health services without a parent.
👉 Now (effective Oct 1, 2025): Teens must be 16+ to make those decisions on their own.

⚠️ Exceptions: Some care (like STD treatment, emergencies, or for emancipated/pregnant/married minors) may still be available without parental consent.

Parents please be aware of this change so your teen’s care is not delayed.

🚨 ATTENTION CDL DRIVERS 🚨
Important DOT Medical Card Update – Effective June 23, 2025

Starting June 23, 2025, Medical Examiners are no longer allowed to hand you a paper copy of your DOT card (Medical Examiner’s Certificate/MEC) if you hold a CDL license.

✅ Your DOT card will now be electronically sent to your state’s DMV
✅ You do NOT need to bring a copy to the DMV
✅ This change only affects CDL drivers – if you don’t have a CDL, you may still get a paper copy

💡 Make sure your license information is correct at your appointment so it’s sent to the right place!
