Biological medicine is a holistic approach to health and wellness that allows the human body to maximize its own healing powers. All functions in a human being are dynamic, and all organs have the capability to rebuild themselves (at least to some extent) during a lifetime. Biological medicine requires new ways of thinking about one’s health – a belief that all disease has a purpose and that sympt

oms are not “diseases” per se, but rather signs that the body’s regulation is out of sync. Therefore, biological medicine never treats diagnoses, but rather individuals; it rarely targets organs, but rather all of the body’s functional systems. There root causes may consist of several factors that, over time, can allow disease-causing toxins to build up in your body. These factors include:
• Diet
• Lifestyle
• Family history
• Stress
• Aging
• Environmental factors
• Trauma
• Exposure to bacteria or virus

Treating the body, mind, and spirit as an integral, interrelated system, biological medicine attempts to diagnose and treat the underlying cause(s) of disease within the context of the patient’s life, family, work, relationships, lifestyle, etc. In 1997, The BioMed Network (BMN) was created as a program of the Marion Institute, a non-profit organization in Marion, MA. BMN is dedicated to the vision of complete health and well-being through the advancement, accessibility and widening availability of biological medicine in North America.

Thank you to our friend, J. Walter Freiberg, Ph.D., J.D., or as many of us know and love him as "Terry" for a deep and meaningful discussion on loneliness yesterday at Marion Music Hall.

Loneliness is a quiet signal—not of weakness, but of our deep need to connect. When we come together, we don’t just ease the ache—we remind each other we belong.
