In honor of Nurses Week, I wanted to give a shoutout to these amazing soon-to-be LPNs from the LPN Program at John A. Logan College 💙🩺

We had the opportunity to host them a couple weeks ago, and it was awesome getting to spend time with such a passionate and motivated group. Seeing the dedication and drive they already have makes it easy to see the future of nursing is in great hands.

Nursing takes a special kind of person, and during Nurses Week I think it’s important to recognize not only the nurses out there now, but also the students putting in the work to get there.

Thank you all for letting us be a small part of your journey, and we can’t wait to see everything you accomplish in the future! 💙

You’ve all been seeing Nurses Week posts all week long… so we figured we’d save the best for last 💙🚑

Huge appreciation goes out to Lenora, Arianne, Erika, Logan, and of course Jessica Roberts, our flight paramedic turned RN!

The dedication, patience, compassion, and hard work each of you bring every single day deserves way more than just one week of recognition. Whether it’s the chaos of the shift, comforting patients and families, or being the reason someone makes it through their worst day, you all continue to show what this profession is truly about.

Jessica, watching your journey from the skies as a flight medic to becoming an RN has been incredible, and the passion you bring to healthcare shines through in everything you do.

Healthcare is better because of people like you all. Thank you for the sacrifices, the laughs, the sleepless nights, and the care you give when people need it most.

Happy Nurses Week to an amazing group of humans 💙

All of us this week at Air Evac 35 had a strong couple days at First Quarter Grand Rounds in Mt. Vernon IL. We practiced, reviewed new protocols, and sharpened our approach to patient care.

Huge appreciation to our Medical Director Dr. Huff for the insight, guidance, and knowledge shared. It pushed us to think deeper, work smarter, and stay flight ready.

We are thankful to always be learning. Always Improving. Always ready to fly.

Air Evac 35 recently had the opportunity to participate in a mock warrant ex*****on alongside the Illinois State Police, and what an incredible experience it was!

During this training scenario, our crew assisted with a simulated scene flight, working through the full process from arrival to patient transport. It was a great opportunity to demonstrate how we approach scene safety, coordinate with law enforcement, and safely prepare and transport patients by air.

We were able to walk the Illinois State Police through our procedures for:
• Establishing and securing a safe landing zone

• Assessing scene hazards for crew and aircraft safety

• Patient packaging and loading

• Communication and coordination between agencies

• Safe departure from the scene

Training exercises like this are invaluable. They give all agencies involved the chance to better understand each other’s roles, improve communication, and strengthen teamwork before real-world emergencies happen.

We had a great time working alongside the Illinois State Police and truly appreciated the opportunity to share our process while also learning from their operations. The collaboration and hands-on experience made this training both productive and enjoyable.

Thank you to everyone involved for making it such a success. We look forward to continuing to build strong partnerships that ultimately help us better serve our communities. 💛🚁
