We can’t believe we forgot to share this HUGE update with our SHINE family 💙
SHINE Support Services is officially fully accredited through Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) — and we’ve earned our Quality Assurances Accreditation for another 3 years!
What makes this even more special…
CQL came on-site in the middle of the ice storm back in January ❄️
Instead of slowing down, our team did what SHINE does best — we adapted.
✔️ Shifted focus groups to virtual
✔️ Created an “All About SHINE” video to ensure our story was told
✔️ Stayed fully committed to the individuals we support, no matter the circumstances
That level of creativity, flexibility, and dedication does not go unnoticed — and it showed.

This accreditation means:

An outside national organization came in and verified that we meet high standards for care, safety, and support.

⚾ TOURNAMENT DETAILS
$300 per team
8 Men’s Teams | 8 Women’s Teams
55 minute games (finish the inning)
1 pitch (with a good foul)
$10 home run bands
IEO without band
44/400 balls | 240 bats ONLY
Double elimination

Don’t let the tools fool you… the focus, determination, and pride are 100% real. Learning skills, staying engaged, and taking initiative comes in all forms—and today, it looks like getting the job done with a little help from a toolbox.

At SHINE, it’s all about building confidence, encouraging creativity, and meeting individuals where they are while helping them grow. Whether it’s real tools or toy ones, the goal is the same—independence, engagement, and a sense of accomplishment.

And honestly… he’s taking that job very seriously 😎💛

Fun Friday done right 🐍✨

Nelson Lorenzo’s crew headed out for a day of good food and even better experiences at CB&K Exotics , and let’s just say… they were ALL IN. From smiles to bravery, Nick and the guys were ecstatic getting hands-on with the animals and even holding a snake!

Huge shoutout to John, the store owner, for his patience, kindness, and for making the experience so welcoming giving the guys the chance to explore, touch, and truly enjoy every moment. 💙

We’re already looking forward to what’s next as we’re planning a show-and-tell day soon where John will bring some of his exotic animals to share with our entire day program, and we couldn’t be more excited!

Game 3 Halftime update: Shine Elite – Built Different is dominating the final game, leading Sunshine Squad 49-29 at the half. Built different for a reason—let’s see if Sunshine Squad can make a comeback in the second half. 🏀🔥

Game 2 had everyone on the edge of their seats 😮‍🔥
SHINE Above the Rim pulled off a clutch finish, taking the win over Sunshine Squad 56–53 in a true nail-biter. Back-and-forth all game, big plays, big energy, and it came down to the final moments.
This is what March Madness is all about 🏀🔥

Sometimes it’s the simplest moments that mean the most. 💙

Today, a trip to Dollar Tree brought the biggest smiles. When asked why he loved it so much, Kobe proudly said, “Because I am convincing… about the entire world.” And honestly, we felt that. ✨
