SHINE is proud to be representing McDowell County at the Special Olympics Summer Games this weekend! 💙💛
While we’re incredibly proud of our athletes and all they have accomplished, today we also want to recognize the people standing beside them every step of the way—our staff.
These aren’t employees who simply clock in and clock out. These are people who spend time at practice, encourage athletes when they are struggling, celebrate every victory, and volunteer their weekends to make experiences like this possible. They show up because they genuinely care.
When people ask what makes SHINE different, the answer is simple: our people.
The individuals we support deserve more than basic care. They deserve champions. They deserve coaches, mentors, cheerleaders, and advocates who believe in them, push them to succeed, and help them experience everything life has to offer. That’s exactly what our staff do every single day.
This weekend, our athletes will compete, make memories, build friendships, and experience opportunities they’ll remember for years to come. None of that happens without a team of dedicated staff willing to go above and beyond long after their scheduled shifts end.
To our coaches, DSPs, QPs, nurses, supervisors, and every staff member who helped make this weekend happen—thank you. Your dedication, compassion, and commitment are changing lives in ways that cannot be measured.

We couldn’t be more proud of our athletes, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible staff standing beside them.
