What an incredible year it has been at Grand Living! From extraordinary performances to everyday moments of joy, 2025 was truly one for the books.

🎄 More Than a Community—We Are Family! 🎄
At Grand Living at Indian Creek, we believe the Christmas spirit is found in the way we treat one another. This year, we celebrated that bond with our annual Secret Santa exchange between our staff and our residents! 🎁❤️

This tradition is so much more than just swapping gifts. It’s a chance to show our residents how much we truly care and enjoy interacting with them every single day. Believe it or not, the gifts on both ends were so unique and well-thought-out that it proved just how well we all know each other! We dare you not to tear up as you look at the facial expressions through these photos! Peer joy!

It’s a beautiful reminder that this isn't just a place to live or a place to work—we are a family. 🤝✨

To keep the joy going, we also threw an epic All-Staff Appreciation Party to celebrate the incredible team that makes this "Living 2 Living" connection possible:

☕️ Tom’s Coffee Truck stopped by with delicious brews.

🍗 Willie Ray’s BBQ brought the flavor (and oh boy, was it amazing!).

🍬 A room full of snacks and goodies to keep us fueled for the fun.

The highlight of the party? Our annual "Ball of Fun" game! 🧤🎳 There is nothing quite like the sound of laughter filling the air as someone frantically tries to unwrap a massive ball of aluminum foil wearing oven mitts while their partner tries to roll doubles!

The Christmas spirit is in full swing here, and you can feel the warmth and joy in every hallway. Thank you to everyone who makes this community so special. ❄️🎅

A Magical New Tradition at Grand Living at Indian Creek!

There was magic yesterday as we hosted our very first "’Twas the Night Before Christmas" event! We are so excited to share that a new tradition has officially begun.

The evening was filled with heart-melting moments and holiday cheer:

Stockings Full of Joy: Little ones arrived in their favorite Christmas pajamas, carrying empty stockings. Our wonderful residents took great delight in filling them to the brim with toys and goodies! 🧸🍬

A Grand Procession: Once the stockings were full, everyone headed to the Forum Theater, where a very special guest was waiting...

Santa & His Helpers: Santa Claus sat patiently to hear every child’s Christmas wish, flanked by his three hardworking elves. 🎅✨

Heavenly Music: The atmosphere was made even more beautiful by two young artists, playing the violin, providing the perfect soundtrack to our celebration. 🎻😇

Sweet Treats: No Christmas Eve celebration is complete without milk and cookies, which were enjoyed by guests of all ages! 🥛🍪

The highlight of the night was a special reading of ’Twas the Night Before Christmas by our very own resident, Carolyn Chila—who some might know as Mrs. Claus’s cousin! Her reading brought the story to life for every child (and adult) in the room.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and came out to celebrate the Christmas spirit with us. We are already counting down the days until we can re-create this magic next year! ❄️❤️

The soundtrack to our holiday season is officially on "epic" mode! 🎶✨ We have so much incredible music filling the air right now, we barely know what to do with it all!

From the elegant strings of our harpists to the piano and the amazing barbershop harmonies of the Harmony Hawks, the talent is just non-stop. We’ve even had the deep, festive brass of Tuba Christmas and the sweetest carols from our local Boy Scouts! 🎺🧑‍🏼‍🤝‍🧑

Our hearts (and ears) are so full. We are definitely loving this holiday spirit! ❤️🎄

✨ A Magical Evening at Home with Jim McDonough ✨ Jim McDonough Music

Sometimes you experience a night so special it feels like a dream! We had the absolute privilege of visiting the stunning home of a very special man and incredible artist, Jim McDonough.

Jim hosted an intimate Christmas performance right in his living room for just a few of us, and it was truly breathtaking. From the moment we walked in, we felt like family. The house was decorated to perfection, the hors d'oeuvres were delicious, and the music was simply soul-stirring. 🎶🎄

We cannot say enough about the kindness of Jim and his wonderful staff—they made us feel so welcome from beginning to end. Honestly, we loved Jim so much we almost tried to hide him on our shuttle and bring him back to Grand Living with us!

Thank you, Jim McDonough's, for opening your home and your heart to us. We are already counting down the days until next year! ❤️🎹

🇫🇮 Why is Finland the happiest country in the world? 🇫🇮

We had the absolute pleasure of hearing from our very own Jim and Jan DeYoung, who gave us an inside look into Finnish life!

Because they have children and grandbabies living there, Jim and Jan have visited Finland multiple times, offering us a perspective much deeper than your average tourist. It was a true delight to hear their stories and get a hands-on look at the beautiful items they’ve brought back from their travels.

Our favorite annual tradition is back!

What an incredible treat it was to welcome the phenomenal Washington High School Madrigals performers back to our community yesterday! We are absolutely blown away by the talent and dedication of these young children. They truly light up the stage with their skills!

Their teacher must be bursting with pride—these students are phenomenal at what they do. We look forward to seeing the Washington High School Madrigals each and every year, and this year was a spectacular reminder of why!
