📣 Community Update: Future Hospital Planning Meetings
Did you know the District has begun strategic planning meetings to help shape healthcare services for Mariposa County’s future hospital?

The John C. Fremont Healthcare District Board of Directors has begun a series of special strategic planning meetings, led by our contracted architecture firm, Cuningham, focused on the future of healthcare services once a new hospital facility is built.

These discussions focus on what services and programs our community will need in the future, as California seismic regulations require hospitals to meet updated safety standards by 2030.

These meetings are public and open to the community, and we encourage residents to stay informed or attend if interested.

These planning conversations help guide long-term decisions so the future hospital reflects the healthcare needs of our community.

You can view Board Meeting Highlights from the most recent planning session here:
www.jcf-hospital.com/board-highlights

Meeting agendas and notices for upcoming meetings are posted on our website in advance.

The next strategic planning meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 19 at 2:00 PM in the JCFHD Boardroom. Virtual attendance via Microsoft Teams is encouraged due to limited seating capacity.

Thank you for your continued support of rural healthcare.

📢 Upcoming Hospital Build Strategic Planning Meetings
We’re sharing the upcoming meeting dates for the Hospital Build Strategic Planning discussions. Due to limited seating we strongly recommend attending online. The Foundation will also publish the recording once it is available.

âś… Important clarification: These meetings are not to design or plan the new hospital building itself. The building permits have been submitted to the county, and plans have been submitted to the state and are currently under review.

🏥 So what ARE these meetings for?
These meetings are to discuss how the new hospital building will be integrated with the existing campus, including what happens to the current ER and acute care spaces once those services move into the new building and the old areas become vacant. This is about the overall campus and the future of JCF.

🔗 The Teams meeting link will be posted on our page as soon as it’s made available by the John C. Fremont Healthcare District or can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/JCFHD

Steven Indendi recently joined the JCF Hospital Foundation board. With a master's degree in nursing education, Indendi is a seasoned and experienced registered nurse, working across a wide range of clinical settings, including skilled nursing, psychiatric care, and hospital emergency and intensive care units.

Indendi brings to the Foundation both frontline healthcare experience and proven leadership, including work leading teams through Joint Commission accreditation. The Joint Commission is an independent, non-profit organization that accredits and certifies over 22,000 healthcare organizations and programs in the U.S., such as hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics. It is the premier health accrediting body, focusing on patient safety, quality of care, and infection control. In addition to his nursing career, Indendi has served his community as a volunteer with Mariposa County Fire.

“I have joined the Foundation board because I want to be a part of a great team with the mission to support the John C. Fremont Healthcare District,” Indendi says. “We have an incredible District that is vital to this community and all of the visitors who pass through. I want to support the District so it can continue for years to come.”

“Not only does Steve bring experience from a number of clinical settings and geographic locations as a member of the John C. Fremont Healthcare District team,” said Heather Bernikoff, Hospital Foundation President, “his addition continues to strengthen the Foundation’s ties to District staff, a key demographic the Foundation serves.”

“His knowledge of various departments will help the Foundation serve this constituency and add value as we build a capital campaign in support of the new hospital,” continued Bernikoff.

JCF Hospital Foundation is seeking additional members to broaden our scope of expertise. If you have experience in finance, legal, graphic design, major gifts, events, or fundraising, and are passionate about the need for healthcare in Mariposa County, please contact the Foundation at admin@jcfhospitalfoundation.org, (209) 966-1166, or speak with any team member about joining.
