Jesse D. Lindley, 78, of Marked Tree, Arkansas departed this life on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on April 15, 1948 in Marked Tree to Hozie D. Lindley and Velma Lee Parks.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Mary Jane Lindley, his parents, five brothers: Junior Lindley, Julian Lindley, Jimmy Lindley, Ronald Lindley and Billy Joe Lindley, one sister: Stella Lindley.
Jesse is survived by three brothers: Homer Lindley, Donald Lindley and Robert Lindley, three sisters: Judy Lindley, Mary Lindley Goodling and Louise Lindley Tacito, and a host of nephews, nieces, friends and other family.
Jesse proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he awarded a medal for sharpshooting. A man who felt most at home outdoors, he spent much of his life hunting and fishing, and working on the farm. Farming was not just his work, but something he truly loved, especially time spent on a tractor. Later in life, he worked in maintenance with the City of Jonesboro Parks and Recreation, where he took pride in mowing and keeping the grounds neat. He especially enjoyed overseeing inmate work crews, treating them with kindness and respect, often cooking them a pot of chili for lunch. He had a special place in his heart for animals, particularly beagles and chihuahuas, and was known for taking in any stray dog that crossed his path. His favorite companion was his hunting dog: Queenie.
A funeral service will be held at Delancey Funeral Home in Marked Tree on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. and visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. til service time.
Burial will follow at Marked Tree Cemetery.
Brother Rick Kimery will officiate the service.

Billie Lee Tyer, 65, of Marked Tree, Arkansas departed this life on Monday, April 27, 2026 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. She was born on May 8, 1960 in Lepanto to William Block Tyer and Loretta Lee Capooth Tyer.
She earned a Master’s degree from Arkansas State University and dedicated fifteen years of her life as a special education teacher. She had a true calling for working with children, and one of her greatest joys was taking her students to the Special Olympics. A free spirit at heart, she loved music, and found happiness in spending time with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her sister: Kellye Johnson.
Billie is survived by her mother: Loretta Moore of Marked Tree, her father: Bill Tyer (Cathy) of Blytheville, two daughters: Athena Vance (Andrew) of Jonesboro and Devon Wheeley (B.J.) of Jonesboro, two brothers: Bill Tyer of Lee Summitt, Missouri and Brad Tyer of Grain Valley, Missouri, three grandchildren: Wrenley Wheeley, Rue Bea Canamore, and Calum Wheeley, and her three fur babies she called Little Bit or Little Dog..
Funeral services will be held at Delancey Funeral Home in Marked Tree on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. and visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at Potter Memorial Cemetery, Lepanto.

Willis “Gene” Edward Haynes, 81, of Jonesboro, Arkansas departed this life on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at his home. He was born on August 8, 1944 to Edward Haynes and Mildred Matthews Haynes.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Dorothy Mae Haynes, his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Gene is survived by his daughter: Lisa Ahl (Wes Davis) of Jonesboro, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.
Graveside service is pending at this time.

W.A. Wren, 84, of Joiner, Arkansas departed this life on Thursday, March 26, 2026, in Bartlett, Tennessee. He was born on February 8, 1942, in Booneville, Mississippi to James Vardeman and Virginia Glover Wren.
W.A. was a devoted member of Keiser First Baptist Church, where he served and found great strength in his faith. He dedicated his life to public services and the safety of others. He proudly served thirty years as an Arkansas State Trooper. Following his career with the State Police he continued to serve as Chief of Police in West Memphis, Arkansas for four years. Later he served as Chief Deputy of Enforcement with the Crittenden County Sherriff’s Office. His leadership and commitment to justice has left a lasting impact, and his love for his family will be cherished forever. He will deeply be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers: James Wren and Russell Wren.
W.A. is survived by his loving wife of sixty-six years: Melba Wren of the home, one son: Curt Wren (Renay) of St. Clairsville, Ohio, one daughter: Sherry Felts (Benton) of Joiner, Arkansas, three grandchildren: Wren Felts (Caley) of Joiner, Arkansas, Matthew Wren (Chessie) of Walnut Creek, California, Morgan Wren (John Ferris) of Atlanta, Georgia, two great grandchildren: Hattie Wren Felts and Kaden Koopmann, three nieces: Donna Harris, Laura Sims and Lana Bell, one nephew: Russell Wren, Jr. and a host of other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at Keiser First Baptist Church on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. and visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at Louise Chapel Cemetery, Joiner, Arkansas.
Brother Todd Vinson and Brother Matt Wynne will officiate the service.

Ruby Nell Smith, 64, of Tyronza, Arkansas departed this life on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at NEA Baptist in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born on June 13, 1961, to Andy and Della Hubbard Allison in Tyronza, Arkansas.
Ruby was of the Pentecostal faith. She worked as a cook for the Chicken Stop in Marked Tree for several years. She enjoyed making crafts and would change them out for every holiday. Family meant everything to Ruby, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandson brought her so much joy.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Bobby Lee “Bucky” Smith, one sister: Phyllis Warner, and four brothers: Doug Allison, Lloyd Allison, Alvin Allison and Jerry Allison.
Ruby is survived by two sons: Bobby Smith (Keionia) of Tyronza, T.J. Smith (Ashley) of Jonesboro, two sisters: Ann Lenderman (Larry) of Tyronza and Linda Blagg of Byhalia, Mississippi, two brothers: James Allison (Linda) of Marion and Larry Allison of Tyronza, bonus daughter: Sharon Renay Ashley of Tyronza, six grandchildren: Jordan Smith (Veronica), Trever Smith, Andrew Smith, Gunner Smith, Eli Smith and Hope Smith, one great grandson: Ropyr Smith, and several nieces and nephews.
Ruby’s family loved her dearly and she will be truly missed.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather: Cecil “Sonny” Hendrix, paternal grandmother: Patricia June Merritt and paternal grandfather: Charles Snow.

She was born on February 16, 1960, in Dallas, Texas to Earl Ray McKinney and Winoia Fay Sampson McKinney. Gale was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marked Tree, Arkansas, she was a very sweet person and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Earl and Winoia McKinney and one sister: Peggy Morris.
Gale is survived by her husband of forty nine years: Homer Johnson of Marked Tree, Arkansas, two daughters: Wendy Spencer of Marked Tree, Arkansas and Donna Johnson of Marked Tree, Arkansas, three brothers: Eddie McKinney of Michigan, Jimmie McKinney of Michigan and Jessie McKinney of Houston, Texas, eight grandchildren: Elizabeth, Taegan, Adrian, Aayden, Amariana, Logan, Zane and Tristen, nine great grandchildren, two great grandchildren on the way and a host of other family and friends.

Julie Ann Turpen, 67, of Marked Tree, Arkansas departed this life on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born on April 21, 1958 to Wayne Alvie and Gladys Farmer Smallwood in Lepanto, Arkansas.
Julie was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed reading her bible. She graduated from Marked Tree High School and earned a business degree from Delta Vo-Tech.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Marty Turpen and her father: Wayne Smallwood.
Julie is survived by her mother: Gladys Smallwood of Marked Tree, Arkansas, one daughter: LeeAndrea Lowry (Shawn) of Marked Tree, Arkansas, one brother: Timothy Smallwood of Jonesboro, Arkansas and two grandchildren: Justin Lowry of Marked Tree, Arkansas and Hannah Lowry of Manila, Arkansas.
She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Richard Lee Middleton, 59, of Marked Tree, Arkansas departed this life on Monday, February 9, 2026, at his home. He was born on September 2, 1966, to Evelina McMasters in Rochelle, Illinois.
Richard, known by his friends as Indian Joe, loved a simple life. He enjoyed fishing, riding the back roads, and his greatest happiness came from spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, who meant everything to him.
He is preceded in death by his step father: Charlie Kelly, brother: Ray Kelly, two sisters: Regina Kelly and Juanita Rose Middleton.
Richard is survived by his wife: Bonnie Johnson of the home, mother: Evelina Kelly of Cherry Valley, three sons: Dakota Middleton of Marked Tree, Austin Johnson of Jonesboro, and Justin Middleton of Florida, two daughters: Makayla Swaim (Tyler) of Brookland, and Brittany Porter (Joey) of Florida, brother: Jehiel Middleton, two sisters: Evadell Middleton, and Kathy Kelly, grandchildren: Ridge, Raelynn, Kaiyah, Danielle, Isaiah and Zack.

Arthur Edward Bettis, 82, of Tyronza, Arkansas departed this life on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on July 17, 1942, to Algie and Gladys Hughes Bettis in Royal, Arkansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Glenna Diggs (Elmer), Marvin Bettis (Alma), Opal Upton (Percy), Octavia Wagner, John Bettis (Edna), Emogene McKee (Eual, “Cokey”), Alfred Bettis (Mary Lou) and Lorene West.
Arthur is survived by his wife Carolyn Bettis, two daughters: daughter: Melissa Watson (Chuck) and Jennifer Meeks (Tim), three sons: Eddie Bettis (Lisa) and Artie Bettis (Brittany) all of Hot Springs, Tyler Bettis of Germantown, Tennessee, two step-children: Tina Sheppherd (Danny) of Earle, Arkansas and Jeff Parker (Edna) of Tyronza, Arkansas, eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one brother: Algie Bettis, Jr. (Teresa) of Proctor, Arkansas, brother in law: LA Fraley (Patty) of Tyronza, Arkansas, sister: Geraldine Lewis of Tucson, Arizona and sister-in-law: Margaret Ross of Manila.
Arthur was a proud member of the Teamsters Union and retired from Yellow Freight Trucking after numerous years. In his early career, he was a truck driver for Commercial Carriers. He was a “Mr. fix it” or “let’s see how it’s made kind of man.” He loved fishing and eating good food. An amateur pitmaster, folks would fight over his wings and steaks. Until the very end, he lived life on his own terms. He was not perfect, but was loved deeply, faults and all.
A funeral will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Delancey Funeral Home in Marked Tree.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Delancey Funeral Home in Marked Tree.
Burial will follow service at Lowe Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. at Royal, Arkansas.
Brother Rick Kimery will officiate the service.
A special thank you to NEA Baptist Hospital and Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
