On behalf of QCDO, its board of Directors, staff and Volunteers a hearty congratulations to Lamara Z. Gilliam, a 2025 graduate of MSPHS for receiving the Reginald D Weary Memorial Scholarship.
Lamara is attending Coahoma Community College with a major in criminal justice. This $2,000.00 award was made possible to QCDO from the REAL Christian Foundation of Richland MS. Lamara encourages everyone to vote Nov 4 in the upcoming special elections for Senator and Representative in Coahoma, Tunica, and Quitman Counties.

Another deserving student Akeelah Love of Marks received a $2,000.00 special award from the Board of Directors of QCDO from the QCHS/MSPHS Gala Fund. This deserving student will be attending MS State University this semester. Today was a great day for Mar Kayla Williams a recent graduate of Madison S Palmer High School she is the 2025 recipient of the REAL Christian Foundation of their Reginald D Weary Memorial Scholarship Find in the amount of $2,000.00. She will attend Coahoma Community College in the fall semester, from left to right, Former Mayor Joe Shegog and County Supervisor and Board Chair of QCDO, both representing Valley Queen MB Church who nominated her for the religiously affiliated scholarship, our 2025 recipient, Mar Kayla Williams of Marks, Stephanie Shegog, Treasurer of QCDO board and Chair of the QCHS/MSPHS Gala Committee and Robert L Jackson, CEO of QCDO. We thank the REAL Christian Foundation for their support and investment in our youth.

The Hunni Beezs and others did it again provided back to school backpacks for Quitman County’s youth at Pleasant Hope M B Church located in Lambert MS. Thanks to QCDO, Save The Children and Hope Alight for donating much of the school supplies and thanks to our youth volunteers who are mentored by the Hunni Beezs for assisting with the event. Everyone had fun with the reading events which were very well laid out and the food was delicious. Thanks to the QCDO sponoserd Community Schools Project for the delicious FREE Hawaiiian Shaved Ice Sno-Cones. Angel Wells yours are the best, hands down!!!.
