To me, it makes 100% sense that the triggers and/or drivers of postpartum anxiety or postpartum depression are ALWAYS multifactorial.
I get so frustrated that mothers struggling with postpartum mood disorders are rarely accessed holistically. We are complex beautiful beings.
Sure, it takes more investigations, more time, or effort, more education and often more money. But it makes far more bloody sense. And IT MATTERS.
I’ve seen mama’s struggle unnecessarily. It breaks my heart 💔 …but I understand.
As it’s all consuming, confusing, overwhelming and at times shameful 😔 ‘Baby comes first’, especially if its your very first time deep in the motherhood ocean.
But wayyy too many mamas take many months or even years to begin addressing it.
What’s amazing is that I’ve seen mamas improve over and over when the myriad of contributing factors are considered, and addressed. It’s possible 🙏🏻
It is not her fault.
It is rarely ONE factor.
It is rarely “UNLUCKY” or “a SHAME”.
When you scroll through the slides you’ll see the many, many things can can contribute. It’s rarely just one of these, but often a unique combination of anywhere from 5 or 10, or more!
You’ll also see a factor come up again and again.
Mamas, you matter 💜
If you’re not feeling well or you just sense that things could (should) be better please seek help.
