June Outpatient Spotlight - Mr. Dale and Mrs. Joyce Wilkins

This outstanding couple, married 60 years next month, has been participating in physical therapy to help with some nagging injuries they have sustained over the past couple of months. Joyce injured her knee a few months ago limiting her mobility. As a passionate gardener, this injury was very frustrating to her as it limited her ability to be out in her garden. Dale, being a supportive spouse, stepped up to help her out so she could continue with her passion! Sadly, his compassionate act for his wife resulted in him hurting his back. Nonetheless, with skilled Physical Therapy here at Therapy Services both are on their road to recovery.

We celebrate the Wilkins today for their dedication to one another and their recovery.

Our May Inpatient Spotlight – Mr. Larry Frost

Larry chose the MRH Swing bed program for rehabilitation following a lengthy hospitalization with difficulty breathing. Never before relying on supplemental oxygen, he found himself fatigued and out of breath after walking only short distances or when putting his shoes on. In just over 1 week, Larry is walking hundreds of feet, climbing stairs and exercising without any additional oxygen! He is looking forward to returning home to be with his wife next week and is thankful that MRH offers this program to him close to his home town.

Congratulations Larry, your upbeat attitude and drive to regain your strength has inspired all of us!

March Patient Spotlight - Mr. Mark Shaw!

Mark underwent major knee reconstruction in late December 2023. He had a very successful reconstruction procedure performed by Dr. Nallamothu here at MRH and was recommended to start physical therapy upon completion of the procedure. Mark worked tirelessly on his therapy program restoring his motion, strength, flexibility and endurance for three days a week for nearly 3 months. His hard work has paid off as he is currently back on the farm working hard with little to no restrictions. Mark is a testament to the phrase "Hard work pays off".

Congratulations Mark for your outstanding success. So happy to be a small part of your recovery journey!

February Outpatient Spotlight - Mrs. Linda Booth!

"I was sent to PT as a formality for insurance reasons. I was told by my provider that nothing can be done; my back is too far gone for surgery but maybe nerve burning would be helpful. I was given Sal as my PT. He checked things that were never mentioned before. He has been working with me and now I have very little to no back pain! Now he is helping me to learn things at home to strengthen my back and keep me where I like and should be! I recommend him to anyone with back or any other type of pain."

So happy you are feeling better Linda. Keep moving forward and getting that back stronger!
