Happy Monday GRTMers!

Currently (as of 4/22/19) we are at 96 registered runners for our Fall race! So nearly 1/3 full as we are capping this year's race at 300 runners. I think we're off to a great start. I have some awesome news though for those of you already registered and at least for our next 54 runners...

Sad vs Depressed
Everyone experiences sadness, the loss of a loved one, the disappointment of a relationship that ends. What is the difference between sadness and depression? First and foremost is length of time the symptoms last. A minimum of two solid weeks of symptoms that significantly interfere with life. Symptoms are typically feelings of hopelessness, helplessness, or worthlessness, crying, isolation, sleep disruption, loss of appetite/excessive comfort eating, difficulty completing simple tasks, confusion and memory problems. Anxiety also begins to increase as ability to function worsens.

If you or someone you know shows these symptoms, encourage them to get help. Offer to come along and be there with them. Be willing to consider medication if the symptoms are like above. Depression isn’t a weakness, it is a debilitating illness.
