When a testimonial brings you so many layers of feelings ❤️
“We interviewed many doulas, but Gabriella stood out for her thoughtful approach to labor from the beginning. We knew she was the perfect doula for us. As health professionals, we appreciated her evidence-based understanding of birth interventions and the scientific way she discussed labor and delivery while also recognizing the beauty of the birth process and committing to ensuring our needs would be met. She met with us several times to make sure we had a firm grounding in labor process and to identify what tactics and strategies might be most helpful. She helped us create a birth plan honoring our desire to minimize unnecessary interventions while also prioritizing the safety of mom and baby. We felt comfortable she would help us realize our ideal birth plan but then our world fell apart. My partner who had practiced so diligently to be my primary support (helped by Gabriella) was no longer there. I could not have imagined delivery without Gabriella. It was more emotional than most births as my spouse was dying as our child was being born. Gabriella was my anchor. Our rock. She advocated for the components of our birth plan we had deemed essential, spoke about and made sure my spouse's memory was in the room throughout the delivery, and helped find moments of joy and levity admist the tears. She helped do all the things I had once imagined my spouse would be doing--she was my lifeline during labor. She did things I didn't even know I needed her to do. She was confident and committed to being the primary support I needed during labor. She helped our son's birth be as magical as we had imagined. There are no words to describe how indebted I am to her. She saw us after birth and was so gentle, kind, compassionate and helpful in navigating those difficult and sleepless early days. She is a treasure and I have referred every pregnant person I know to her. She embodies all that a doula can and should be. “
