“The Tdap vaccination offers older adults protection against three serious illnesses: tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough). Health officials say older adults who have never had a Tdap vaccination should get one dose and then a booster every 10 years. “Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease are often spoken about interchangeably, but they are not the same condition. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia, but there are many other types of dementia. Although it can be scary or challenging to acknowledge changes within ourselves or someone close to us, it is important to do so and take action. Below is how the Federal cuts will effect residents of New Jersey:

Also known as NJ Family Care in New Jersey, the recent budget cuts will negatively impact communities across the entire state. It will take time to fully feel this exact impact, Hospitals, nursing homes, and healthcare providers are preparing for these cuts now.

Here are just some ways we can expect to see NJ families affected:
• 350,000 eligible New Jerseyans will lose their coverage. That’s 1 out of every 5 covered residents.
• $3.3 billion cut from hospitals and public health. Hospitals, as a result, may need to cut staff, services, or even shut down entirely.
• $360 million cut from the state budget due to restrictions in federal funding

"Caregiving, a new documentary created with executive producer Bradley Cooper, highlights the challenges and triumphs of caregiving in America.

The two-hour documentary is centered on the personal experiences of caregivers providing for loved ones, and the challenges and triumph they face each day. As the number of caregivers declines, and the number of individuals requiring care in our country increases, the challenges grow. Caregivers require differing types and levels of support. At times, the burdens of caregiving can seem unbearable, regardless of resources. The “needs gap” for information may be greater for caregivers than it is for care recipients. The film will explore these issues and shine a light on innovation for 21st century caregiving.
