To conclude our Honoring Yesterday & Celebrating Today – Holiday Edition, we are featuring a very special lady, Sue. 🎄✨
For Sue, the holidays were always about family, togetherness, and making sure no one ever felt alone. She was the glue that held it all together ..patiently unraveling a tangled ball of lights (testing every single one!), climbing the ladder, and lovingly hanging them outside. No task was too big or too small; she truly loved all the prep that made the season special.
Sue believed in open doors and open hearts. If someone needed a place to belong, her home was it. Christmas cookie baking with her grandchildren was a cherished tradition one they now carry on with their own children. She preferred to stay behind the scenes, never seeking credit, finding her greatest joy in the happiness of others.
A firm believer in giving whatever you’re able, Sue worked year-round to ensure everyone felt the love of the season. She was active in her church’s Secret Santa, helping provide for families who were struggling. Simple joys meant the most: trips to The Pub or “G” Boys, then driving around to admire beautifully decorated homes.
Sue often said Christmas wasn’t like it is now she grew up with very little but was always grateful. Even fruit in her stocking felt like a treat.
One treasured memory from her teenage years was when a neighborhood friend received a special fur coat and invited all the girls to share it, so each could feel special.
📸 The last photo captures Sue in that fancy fur coat it is... timeless, and full of what makes the holiday season...Merry & Bright!
