When the voices of 847 *TEACHERS* are silenced by a Board of Education that doesn't seem to care, and a Superintendent who accuses REAL PARENTS and REAL TEACHERS with REAL STORIES and PROOF of a SMEAR campaign -- you can no longer sit idly by, attempting to negotiate for change. You must act!
I am asking you to do two favors for me today:
1.) SIGN this petition to remove Teresa Weatherall-Neal as the Superintendent of Grand Rapids Public Schools.
..and...
2.) SHARE this petition with everyone you know, regardless of where they live.
Special Education students and programs should be a TOP priority in every school district and the district superintendent should ensure all special education department services and otherwise are carried out with complete fidelity.
Superintendents must work with school leaders -- principals -- TEACHERS -- to serve the needs of ALL students and meet the district goals.
The superintendent must also respond to the demands of all the other constituencies and interest groups in the district: teachers, students, parents, staff, advocates, and the community at large. She/he must consider how to use the financial and human resources of the district in order to achieve the best results. While being mindful of competing demands, a GREAT superintendent will be guided by what is best for ALL students. Unfortunately, it seems, Teresa Weatherall-Neal is guided instead by political alliances and PRIDE.
Please sign. Remember; to see injustice and do nothing about it is to participate in it.
