Chronic headaches can sometimes be linked to tension in the neck and upper cervical muscles. 🧠🦴 When those muscles stay tight, they can contribute to discomfort. Manual therapy can help reduce tension and support more comfortable movement.

Did you know we also have a licensed massage therapist at our Country Village location? 💆‍♀️ If persistent headaches are an issue for you, talk with your doctor. They may be able to refer you to one of our specialists.

Your joints need movement to stay healthy. 🏃🏻💚

Moving helps circulate the fluid that nourishes your joints and keeps them feeling smoother and less stiff. It doesn’t have to be big or intense. Consistent, comfortable movement can make a real difference over time. Let the movement work for you. 💪🏻

Meet Megan Mathieu, PT, DPT at our downtown Ishpeming location! 💚 ✨

Megan was first introduced to the world of physical therapy after experiencing an injury while running cross country. Coincidentally, her cross-country coach was also a physical therapist. She helped treat Megan’s injury, allowing her to continue running through the end of the season.

After that experience, Megan said, “I thought it was a really cool career. You are able to meet a lot of people and talk one on one with them for full hours at a time and help the community.” We might be a bit bias but we are sure glad her journey led her to become a physical therapist. 🫂

Even when it’s cold outside, staying active helps keep your muscles strong, joints flexible, and circulation flowing. 🌨️🥾

Regular movement can also boost your mood, reduce stiffness, and lower your risk of winter-related injuries. A few simple stretches or a short walk each day can make a big difference! 🩵

Today we’re highlighting LeAnn Makela, DPT, from our Fair Ave. Clinic! 💚

LeAnn discovered physical therapy at a young age while receiving care for ankle instability, and by college, she knew she wanted a career in healthcare. 🩺 She chose PT not only for the meaningful connections she builds with patients, but also for the chance to see them regularly and support them throughout their care.

Her passion for vestibular therapy began in her first role as a PT, and today, about 60% of her caseload focuses on vestibular rehab. As LeAnn says, “Dizziness can affect someone for their whole life and it can really affect your whole ability to do anything.” The most rewarding part for her? Helping patients feel heard while providing relief from their symptoms.

Did you know that our Marquette Fair Ave. location offers Aqua Therapy? 🏊🏻‍♀️💧 Aqua therapy is a form of physical therapy that uses the natural properties of water to support movement, reduce stress on joints, and improve strength, balance, and mobility. The buoyancy of the water allows patients to move more comfortably, while its gentle resistance helps build strength safely and effectively.

Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing more about how aqua therapy works, who it’s best for, and what you can expect from a session so stay tuned!
