Today is a hard day. This time in general, in our country, in this beautiful and diverse land that we love, is hard to exist in. There is so much fear, so much division. But through the clouds we see people standing up, reaching out, and caring for each other. That’s what we’re about here. We want you to know that we are a safe place for you. We have open doors and open hearts. No matter the reason you are seeking healing today, let us sit in it together with you. We will always stand in solidarity with our neighbors, our fellow Yoopers, and provide a space of healing. We hope you treat your hearts gently in these times.
As healthcare workers, the death of Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse who dedicated his life to caring for veterans, while protecting a stranger in need is heartrending. He displayed the instincts of a healer, of a helper, even in those moments. We know our neighbors at risk for persecution are living in a state of fear right now, not sure what tomorrow will bring. We recognize that many of our neighbors are struggling with how to help, how to bear witness, how to support. Reach out and talk to one another. If you feel in the coming days that you are unable to present for care that you need, reach out to us and we can help navigate that safely with you. We're all in this together.
