We have also had this scam brought to our attention. Please keep watch of your statements and EOBs. Below are some great resource phone numbers if you or someone you know thinks they may be at risk.

The Marquette Police Department would like to make residents aware of an uptick in reported Medicare fraud incidents locally. Medicare beneficiaries have reported fraudulent billing for durable medical equipment they never requested, received, or needed.

Medicare beneficiaries are reminded to closely examine their Medicare Summary Notices (MSNs) for inconsistencies and report any suspicious activity to 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) or online at Medicare.gov (Reporting Medicare fraud & abuse). The Marquette Senior Center is available to assist local Medicare beneficiaries with correcting potential fraud issues. The Marquette Senior Center can be reached at (906)228-0456.
