Today we celebrated Zachary’s last day at Norlite. Zachary joined us in the activities department in 2024 and has demonstrated exceptional dedication to our residents, and his coworkers. He approached his role here with genuine compassion. Zachary’s commitment to making our residents feel valued, engaged, and cared for has made a lasting impact. Zachary has truly been an outstanding member of our team. He will truly be missed by residents and staff alike. We are grateful for his time here and wish him continued success and fulfillment in his future endeavors!

Every year on March 26th people around the world wear purple for International Epilepsy Awareness Day. This day is meant to help break the stigma, educate the public, and support those who have an epilepsy diagnosis. Our staff at Norlite wore purple in honor of all those who have this diagnosis to show our support; to let them know they are not alone. 💜💜

As a facility that never closes even when the weather gets rough we want to express our gratitude to our staff members who went above and beyond during this snow storm. Many members of our team (nursing, maintenance, housekeeping, and dietary) stayed overnight at Norlite or close by in a hotel to provide care, food, and even braved the high winds to fix heating units for our residents. Many members of our team worked long hours to ensure our residents were safe and cared for during the storm of the century. Not only were these team members there for our residents but they were there for each other; making sure that everyone in the Norlite family was safe and cared for. Thank you to those who showed endless dedication; we are forever grateful. ❤

Jaime Kentala has been named Norlite’s March Teammate of the Month!

Jaime has been a teammate with UP Rehab for the past 20 years and was actually the very first employee hired by the company. We’re incredibly fortunate to have her working with us full-time at Norlite.

This marks Jaime’s third time receiving this recognition, and each time the nominations speak to the same thing: the genuine care and dedication she shows every day. Jaime is always willing to jump in to help with cares and transfers, and she truly cares about the well-being of the residents she serves.

Her coworkers consistently describe her as kind, knowledgeable, dependable, and always willing to help when asked. With decades of service at Norlite and UP Rehab, Jaime brings both experience and compassion to everything she does.

Most importantly, Jaime is simply a wonderful person to work with, and our residents and team are better because of her.

On Friday we celebrated Crystal's last day at Norlite. We are so grateful for the many years of commitment, hard work, and care put into the facility. You will be greatly missed, and we are wishing you a retirement as special as you are! Thank you, Crystal, and no matter where you are, you will always have a family here at Norlite.
