To the 906AT Community,

We lost Tara (a.k.a. Adventure Coordinator) in an accident Friday. Tara was a loving, compassionate, joyful, fun, adventurous spirit. She lived life to the fullest. She loved the outdoors and being with people. She would do anything for anyone - anytime, anywhere.

There isn't a person in the world who wanted good for all people more than Tara. She genuinely wanted to see all people succeed, especially kids. She would give anything to see it happen.

What's next? We're going to grieve this tremendous loss. Then, we will celebrate her life and keep her light shining brightly. We'll show up for Tara to do the work she believed in so deeply. That's what she would have done if it had been one of us.

"Life isn't fair" is one of the things we teach kids, and we do it by helping them experience it. Things don't always go to plan. We're going to suffer loss and experience disappointment. You fall and learn how to get back up. It's part of life, and it's not fair, but you get stronger as you work through it. This is one of those "life isn't fair" moments for us, the adults, and our entire community. We're going to get up, dust ourselves off, and finish what Tara started.
