Senior Provider Network -  Marquette County Collaborative Networking Group. List of agencies involved with Senior Provider Network. Updated information as to issues regarding seniors.

The Marquette County Senior Provider Network is a collaborative, informal and informational sharing group of providers and community members that meet once a month to identify and address unmet needs of seniors in our community. Group members meet over their lunch hour with goals of sharing resources and decreasing duplication of services. In addition to the sharing meetings, the network as hosted

legislative luncheons to advocate for funding for in-home services to Seniors, produced a video highlighting Marquette County services, raised funds to publish a book on Hospice Services to be distributed for free to the community and sent a delegation to Lansing to meet with elected officials and State staff to discuss needs of seniors. The group receives no funding and all projects to date have been completed using volunteer time and materials and a small community grant award

The Michigan Commission on Services to the Aging is seeking input from the public at its next listening session, which will be held at the Negaunee Senior Center at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 16. The commission advises the governor, legislature and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on matters relating to policies and programs for older adults in Michigan. Anyone wishing to address the commission is asked to register upon arrival and fill out a public comment card. Speakers should limit comments to five minutes each.
