Dear SCLA family,

Due to developments in the insurance landscape beyond our control, our practice will be undergoing some notable changes in the coming months. Firstly, our partnership with LCMC will be expanding and you will notice some design alterations to our clinic as well as our website. Secondly, we will be shifting much of our bariatric surgeries to University Medical Center (UMC) in downtown New Orleans.

We have been working non-stop to make this transition as smooth as possible, with minimal effects on our patients' experience. We have obtained the necessary credentialing and resource allocation to accommodate all of our weight loss patients. We will still have all clinic visits at our Marrero location, our website and phone/fax numbers will stay the same, and our patients should expect no changes to their preoperative schedule. For those patients whose surgeries will be done at UMC, we will have detailed information on where to go and what to do.

This is an exciting time, and we are grateful for your help, patience, and trust as we continue to deliver safe and effective surgery as efficiently as possible.

I don’t reflect enough on how lucky I am to do what I do, but earlier this month I was very lucky to welcome some of the staff from Surgical Clinic of Louisiana into my operating room!

Yanetsy, Brandy, and Kasey are my foundation and my support system in this busy job, and I’m so grateful they came to see the fun part that they make possible!
