The primary responsibilities are greeting and checking patients in and out, preparing treatment rooms in between patients, and fielding phone calls. Herbal Ayurvedic (read: non pharmacological) medicine for pain in India! This should be among the first things to try before reaching for the OTC drugs that cause harmful side effects to the liver, stomach, and kidneys. This organ damage is the reason my mentor Dr. Pawluk got involved with PEMF therapy in the first place. Better solutions are out there, just gotta look beneath the surface.

On 9/11/2024 I underwent invasive bilateral hernia surgery (mesh free procedure), and on 9/16/2024 I was back at work helping patients. PEMF therapy significantly reduced my healing time and it can do the same for you too.

My friend Brian here has been cutting my hair every two weeks at Clarksville Barber for the past 25 years - before the beard, before the grays started showing up, and before the hair started thinning. Before I made the choice to become an acupuncturist, back when Clarksville was much quieter. We share a lot of similarities - we are on our feet most of the day, using our hands with a soft touch, maintaining a cool head and a calm profile, and renewing our state license every few years to apply metal objects to the body to keep the community healthy. We even look almost the same as we did when we first met more than half a lifetime ago.

He treats everyone with respect and genuinely is a master of his craft. Thanks for all you do Brian - I have learned from you and you have helped me to better tend to those who show up to my door. May you keep up the great work. I appreciate our relationship.

Greetings - we are currently undergoing major changes!

After operating in Glenwood for the past nine years, we are no longer located there. Our office has moved to the Marriottsville/Turf Valley area (approximately 15 minutes away from Glenwood). We have joined forces with the Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics and are working alongside them at 2500 Wallington Way Suite 105.

Since we are no longer in Glenwood, our clinic name has also changed! We are now CALM Healing - The Center for Acupuncture, Laser, & Magnetic Healing.

Our phone number remains the same, and the new website address is calmhealing.net. We look forward to being of service and continue to offer free consultations.

Our Story

Glenwood Acupuncture started out as a small acupuncture clinic serving Western Howard County, realizing that most of the community had to travel far away to receive acupuncture treatment. Over the years, we have evolved into an integrative wellness center specializing in unique, safe, drug-free, effective, and proven therapies to help people heal from injuries, stress, and the wear and tear of day-to-day life. Our services include Acupuncture, Magnetics, Laser Therapy and Massage Therapy. Riz Lakhani, L. Ac., M. Ac. is the clinical director of Glenwood Acupuncture and a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Maryland since 2013. His specialty is laser acupuncture and magnetic field therapy (PEMF therapy) for a variety of ailments and general wellness. He resides in West Friendship along with his wife and three small children.

Liz Miller, LMT is our licensed massage therapist and has been practicing massage for the past 14 years. She resides in Sykesville with her husband and three daughters. For acupuncture services, we accept CareFirst/BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare insurance plans and also accept workers' compensation assignments on a case by case basis. Our other services are not covered by insurance. We offer a complimentary consultation in which we review patients’ medical histories, review their goals, and present a variety of options to treat the patient as a whole, unique person and not just the diagnosis they bring with them.
