Our Story

Glenwood Acupuncture started out as a small acupuncture clinic serving Western Howard County, realizing that most of the community had to travel far away to receive acupuncture treatment. Over the years, we have evolved into an integrative wellness center specializing in unique, safe, drug-free, effective, and proven therapies to help people heal from injuries, stress, and the wear and tear of day-to-day life. Our services include Acupuncture, Magnetics, Laser Therapy and Massage Therapy. Riz Lakhani, L. Ac., M. Ac. is the clinical director of Glenwood Acupuncture and a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Maryland since 2013. His specialty is laser acupuncture and magnetic field therapy (PEMF therapy) for a variety of ailments and general wellness. He resides in West Friendship along with his wife and three small children.

Liz Miller, LMT is our licensed massage therapist and has been practicing massage for the past 14 years. She resides in Sykesville with her husband and three daughters. For acupuncture services, we accept CareFirst/BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare insurance plans and also accept workers' compensation assignments on a case by case basis. Our other services are not covered by insurance. We offer a complimentary consultation in which we review patients’ medical histories, review their goals, and present a variety of options to treat the patient as a whole, unique person and not just the diagnosis they bring with them. We strive to deliver an exceptional experience and aim to bring acupuncture and our other modalities to the masses!
