New Food Pyramid that the government pushed out has many people either celebrating, angered, or are just plain confused.

First off, I love the approach of eating REAL FOOD, but this new pyramid is going to let people think eating tons of red meat is good for them. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

You can decide how you want to decipher it, however, just know that there are several people who helped create these guidelines that have, at the same time, financial ties to the beef, pork, and dairy industries.

I'd say that's a conflict of interest (which has been an issue for a very long time - if not since the beginning of the Food Pyramid).

My suggestion? Eat real food and if you are going to eat meat, make sure the quality is at it's highest. This means that the animals should be eating what they were meant to eat.

Cows = 100% grass fed.
Chicken = pasture raised.
Fish/Salmon = wild caught.

Other suggestion? Try consuming more plant-based proteins! The bonus is that you'll get protein PLUS the much needed fiber and nutrients that most people are lacking. ๐Ÿ‘. "Feed your gut".

TRACK YOUR YEAR! Tracking your workouts is so satisfying! โ˜บ๏ธ

Not only does it motivate me to stay on track, it is also fun to see the results at the end of the yearโ€ฆ.๐Ÿ˜„

Although the last half of 2025 was me dealing with an injury, I adjusted my workouts and kept goingโ€ฆ.๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ

I use a couple different apps to track my workouts.

Apple Watch. I use my watch to turn on/off all my workouts. (It feeds data into my other app.)

FITIV Pulse. This is the only one that I use to track my heart rate and stats.

Find one that works for you and be consistent with it and let it motivate you to do better!
