What would you need to do now to make that image a reality?

Continue to ask yourself that question to stay motivated. 🚶🏼

Find a picture of a 90 year old that shows how you want to be living when you are that age….Put it on your refrigerator for a constant reminder, and work for it.

You have to work for it.

Diet.
Movement.
Muscle.
Balance.
Flexibility.
Happiness.
Peacefulness.
Independence.

BRUNCH. Easy, full of protein, and nutritious! My kefir bowl is the perfect blend….😋

- 1 C kefir (unflavored)
- 1 C mixed frozen berries (warmed)🍓🫐
- 1/4 C mixed nuts/seeds 🌰🌻🎃
- 1/2 scoop plant-based protein powder

Why kefir and not Greek yogurt?

Kefir typically has more probiotic diversity and potentially greater digestive health benefits.

Give it a try but just like yogurts, stay away from the added flavors and sugars.

This bowl has approximately 22 grams of protein 👏🏻 and lots of plant variety. 🌱

VEGETABLE BOWL kinda day. 🥗 Coming off of an unhealthy weekend, it’s always nice to start the week with a plant-based meal.

These are the plants (and a little feta cheese) that I had in my house tonight.

Most of the time, these vegetable bowls are never the same. But the flavors always come together.

PLUS, this bowl had over 25 grams of protein! Add in all the vitamins, minerals, fiber, and phytonutrients from the plants 🪴 and it’s a POWERHOUSE MEAL!

Here’s what I had in it tonight:
- chickpeas
- roasted Brussels sprouts
- stir fried mushrooms & asparagus
- mixed quinoa & lentils
- raw spinach
- pine nuts
- pickled onions 🧅
- and the feta cheese 😋

For the dressing, I just did balsamic vinegar. (I usually like to do a honey mustard dressing, but was too lazy to make it!) 😉

WOMEN OVER 40! LISTEN UP!!! We all get to the point where we are in denial about approaching menopause, but let me tell you the bad news.... The average age of a woman hitting peri-menopause (the stage before menopause where we will see the most significant symptoms) is 36 years old!😳

So, stop being in denial. If strange things are happening to your body, your mind, your weight, your mood, your sleep, your body temperature, your teeth, your muscles, your va**na, your hair, your everything.... Well, odds are you are in peri-menopause.

What should you do? Educate yourself. 📚

Let me help. Here is your first lesson.✅

METABOLIC HEALTH. This is referring to how well your body manages and utilizes energy from the food you consume, encompassing factors like blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, and waist circumference. So, super important right?!

How do you maintain metabolic health? #1 thing you can do is GAIN MUSCLE. 🏋️

As we age, we lose muscle mass very quickly! And without muscle mass we lose our mobility, start to gain fat, disease risk goes up, and so much more that our quality of life is inevitably going to fall.

Start gaining muscle today! If you are in your 40's or older, this should be a top priority! No excuses. FIGHT LIKE HELL to get muscle and maintain it for as long as possible! 👊

WE ARE OPEN! ✅ Barberry Health Center is now open at 118 W College Dr in Marshall!

(And for those of you keeping track of me, I got everything done yesterday except for my office. I averaged 24,000 steps each day for the last 4 days, worked 12 hour days, and averaged 5 1/2 hours of sleep each night. 😴 I’m exhausted but excited to have it up and running! )

We are not moving again! 🫤😂
