Guiding Star Marshalltown is looking for a volunteer doula or counselor with a heart for postpartum care to lead a monthly postpartum group for new moms and their babies. đź’™

🫶 This group will be a welcoming space where moms can gather, share their experiences, learn practical skills for the postpartum season, and build meaningful connections with other women walking a similar path. Our goal is to create a supportive environment that normalizes postpartum challenges and reminds moms they are not alone.

Miscarriage & Infant Loss Support Gathering

We invite you to a gentle, compassionate evening created specifically for parents walking through this kind of loss. This gathering is a place to breathe, to share (only if you want to), and to feel seen.

Led by Holly and Jenny - two Marshalltown moms who have experienced their own heartbreaking losses. They understand the weight you carry, and they’re here to walk beside you with empathy, care, and genuine understanding.

Wondering what your options are for natural fertility - or what “natural fertility” even means?

When we use the term natural fertility, we’re covering a wide range of support. This includes natural contraception, infertility support, puberty education, cycle tracking, help after miscarriage or abortion, and guidance through peri-menopause or menopause.

If you’re wanting to move away from artificial hormones, consider a system like Marquette, Creighton, or FEMM. We teach the Marquette Method in-house at Guiding Star Marshalltown, and we can connect you virtually with practitioners who teach the other two options.

If you have a teen girl, you might consider TEEN FEMM. This program teaches young women how their cycle works (it’s a lot more than just a period!), how to navigate symptoms, and how to track their overall fertility health.

If you have a pre-pubescent girl, check out our class, Intro to Womanhood. It is offered quarterly here in Marshalltown and is a mom-daughter class that teaches girls about their four “superpowers”: ovulation, menstruation, gestation, and lactation.

Our highly requested Infant & Child CPR + Choking Class is back December 15 from 6-7:30pm and includes hands-on practice, step-by-step instruction, and easy-to-understand guidance from RN and AHA-certified instructor Julie Grunklee.
