New Classes Coming Up!

On May 3rd, Erin will be back with another Sourdough Workshop! Perfect for beginners and those looking to get started with baking all kinds of delicious sourdough products.

On May 4th, Julie Grunklee will be holding Stress Less, Cycle Well. Learn how stress impacts your cycle, and what you can do about it!

On May 6th, our Miscarriage and Infant Loss Support Gathering will be happening from 6:30-7:30 PM. A safe space to heal and meet with those facing a similar circumstance.

On May 18th, we will have Mugs and Mamas led by Sarah Trosen! Moms are welcome to come even without their kids. Child Watch may be available; you must RSVP beforehand. Coffee provided!

May 18th is also our Navigating Adoption group. Led by Sarah, an experienced pastor and adoptive mom, this group focuses on the ups and downs of adoption and foster care from a Christian perspective.

We are ending out the month with Grace Restored on May 21st. Led by Carrie, this group is meant for healing and comfort in order to find peace after a previous decision regarding abortion.

Our “In Honor of a Mother” Campaign is a simple way to celebrate the women who have shaped our lives, whether it’s a mother, grandmother, mentor, or mother-figure who has made a lasting impact on you.

With a gift made in her name, her legacy will carry on by directly supporting women through the care and services we provide.

Names honored will be displayed in our center (we already have several from Mother’s Market!☺️), and they will be shared on social media on Mother’s Day.

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month! 🫶

Pictured are just some of our amazing volunteers. As a nonprofit, our center is run almost entirely by volunteers. These dedicated individuals greet clients, stock and organize Aggie’s Closet, keep our office clean and welcoming, and never hesitate to jump-in on other tasks that may come up.

We could not continue our work in the community without these selfless people who give their time and efforts to Guiding Star Marshalltown.

We hope each and every one of our volunteers feel appreciated and loved, because they are!

We still have a few more events to finish out the month! 🌿

Harnessing Your Hormones for Health & Fat Loss will be held this Thursday at 5:30PM. Learn how to sync your cycle and your habits to support your body the way it was designed.

Later that same night, Grace Restored is meeting at 6:30PM. If you are struggling with guilt or shame from a past decision, we welcome you to join us and find healing.

Our mom’s group, Mugs & Mamas, will be meeting on Monday the 20th at 10:30AM. Childwatch is limited and may not be guaranteed. Moms are always welcome to come even without their kids, coffee is provided! ☕️

Also on Monday the 20th is Navigating Adoption at 6:30PM, led by Sarah Trosen. Sara offers guidance and support for those looking to adopt or foster, as well as those who have already started their journey.
