On Monday, incumbent Marshall County Treasurer Deann Tomlinson announced that she will seek a second term in 2026. Tomlinson, a Republican, was first elected in 2022 after serving as the Chief Property Tax Supervisor in the Treasurer’s Office. The primary election is slated for June 2, while the general election is on Nov. 3.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed the past four years as Treasurer as we have enhanced our investments, broadened our Motor Vehicle division service to increase revenue to the county and built a great team that prides on our service to the citizens of Marshall County,” Tomlinson said.
In a press release announcing her run, Tomlinson noted that since 2022, Marshall County’s investments have increased from $268,000 a year to over $800,000 annually.
“While rates have gone up to help us more than triple our return on investment, we’ve had a great balanced approach with our investments between local banks and the Iowa Public Agency Investment Trust, which has been a valuable resource to keep your property taxes in check,” she said.
