💙 On Saturday, we had the 2026 Iowa River Hospice Memorial Walk, and what a beautiful morning it was. Thank you to everyone who came out to remember, reflect, and walk alongside us. We had an incredible turnout and were so touched to see families and loved ones gathered together around the pond, sharing memories and supporting one another.
Guests enjoyed delicious Dunkin’ Donuts and Holy Grounds Coffee — a special thank you to both for helping make the morning even more comforting and welcoming! ☕🍩
We would also like to give a heartfelt thank you to Alan Mullikin for sharing his musical talents and leading us in prayer during the program. Another special thank you to Beverly Iverson for bravely sharing her testimony about her husband’s journey with Iowa River Hospice and her experience with grief support through the Widow’s Web.
Some of Beverly's powerful words reminded us exactly why hospice care matters so deeply:
“Our hospice team prepared and instructed us for each step in the caregiving process, anticipated our needs for medical supplies and equipment and made sure we had them, took some of the burden of caregiving for a terminally ill loved one from us, and answered our calls in the middle of the night when each catheter failed.”
“The hospice team offered comfort by fulfilling end-of-life wants with pie, haircuts, and conversation about the patient’s life.”
“The hospice team doesn’t abandon you. There are calls, letters about dealing with grief, opportunities to join study groups, activities. You are not left alone.”
Thank you to everyone who joined us and allowed us to honor your loved ones together. 💙
