🔥 ALMOST MEAT RAFFLE TIME! 🔥
Join us Sunday, November 9th | 1–4 PM at Haverhill Social Club!

🥩 How it works:
🎟️ $1 per ticket — buy as many as you want!
🥇 First ticket drawn wins the meat tray
🍻 Second ticket wins a free drink
💥 Then we start again with a new tray!

We’ll have 15–20 meat trays up for grabs — plenty of chances to win big and have fun!

All proceeds go toward a blanket warmer for our Hospice Home, helping us bring extra comfort and care to our patients and families. ❤️

Our Iowa River Hospice team came together last night to celebrate being recognized as Best Hospice and Best Place to Work! 🏆
These awards are a true reflection of the heart and commitment our staff pour into every patient and family we care for. We are so proud to serve this community and grateful for the continued support that makes our work possible.
We also had to celebrate two October birthdays - Pam Wells and Dr. Swinton! 🎂
Thank you to El Portal for hosting such a wonderful celebration! 💙

In loving memory of Kathy Rouse 💙

A few days before Kathy passed, Applebee’s kindly donated steak dinners after Kathy and her husband mentioned how good it sounded — a special moment shared together.
Kathy is deeply loved and missed by all who knew her. Our team at Iowa River Hospice was honored to care for her and walk alongside her family during this time.

🐴🎉 A Special Birthday Surprise for Robert!

Our team at Iowa River Hospice helped make Robert Fluckey’s birthday extra special! Robert used to raise horses, and it’s a topic that always brings a smile during our visits. On Friday, we were able to surprise him with a visit from a horse - bringing a piece of joy back to him on his big day. ✨

A big thank-you to Stephanie McCready at Burnin Barrel Ranch for making this possible. Robert’s daughter, Teresa, and son, Todd, were also there to share in this beautiful moment. 💙

Sometimes, it’s the little things that mean the most. One of our hospice patients recently shared that nothing sounded good to eat—until she mentioned craving some good, crunchy fried chicken from Pizza Ranch.

When Pizza Ranch heard, they were more than happy to donate a meal just for her. The smile on her face when she received that chicken said it all — it truly made her week.

She shared that it’s something we often take for granted — being able to get what sounds good whenever we want. Living in a facility, those simple joys aren’t always easy to come by.

A huge thank you to Pizza Ranch for this thoughtful act of kindness that brought so much joy to one of our patients. 💙

We’re hiring a Day Shift Part-Time Registered Nurse to join the Inpatient Staff at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, IA.
🔹 Position: Registered Nurse
🔹 Hours: Part-Time (24 hours)
🔹 Shift: Days (7 AM to 7 PM)
🔹 Care: Iowa River Hospice Home
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care and support to terminally ill patients and their families. Their presence and services should bring comfort to the person who faces the end of their life and help them reach acceptance and peace of mind. Must have a compassionate nature and excellent interpersonal skills. Is knowledgeable in caring for the terminally ill, performing tasks such as administering medication and providing emotional support, helping patients live their final days with dignity and comfort.
