🌟 Employee of the Month: Giovanni 🌟

Giovanni has been part of our team as a Dietary Aide for the past 8 months and is now transitioning into his role as a CNA! He was inspired to join Accura by his big brother, and since then, he has brought energy, dedication, and plenty of laughter to our residents.

His favorite memory is spending time joking and laughing with residents, seeing their smiles brighten his day. Giovanni’s favorite holiday is Halloween, and when he’s not working, he enjoys his hobbies hanging with his friends, and grabbing a bite at his favorite local spot, The Flying Elbow.

Known for his humor, kindness, and respect, Gio is not only a valued coworker but also a friend to many here at Accura. We are lucky to have him on our team! 💙

Exciting News from Accura HealthCare of Marshalltown!

We are introducing Traditions Memory Care at Accura HealthCare of Marshalltown, a specialized Alzheimer’s and Dementia care secured unit. Our thoughtfully designed space will feature 32 beds, including private and semi-private rooms, plus dedicated areas for engagement, social connection, and daily routines. Enhancements include a secure courtyard, expanded activities, and dining improvements. Upgrades and remodeling is underway. We are anticipating opening this specialized unit in early October.

We are now accepting referrals—spaces are limited!

Say hello to Maureen, our cheerful Resident of the Month! Originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Maureen brings warmth and positivity to everyone around her. She’s always quick to share a sweet laugh, and her joyful spirit is simply contagious.

Maureen loves tuning into her favorite game shows, The Price is Right, Family Feud, and anything that brings a little friendly competition and fun! Before retiring, she worked as a telemarketer, and it’s easy to imagine how her kind and friendly voice made a lasting impression.

Whether she’s enjoying a show, participating in activities, or simply lighting up the room with her smile, Maureen is truly a gem in our community. 💛📺🎉

Accura HealthCare is an Iowa based healthcare company that manages and operates 32 skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, 13 assisted living centers, and 1 independent center. Accura embraces an upside-down organization philosophy that places residents, patients, and direct care employees at the very top of the organizational chart. In addition, Accura chooses not to be referenced as a corporate office, but rather a Resource Center. The lower an employee is on the chart (thus having more leadership) the more responsibility they have to be a resource to those above them.

Accura’s organizational philosophy creates an upside-down triangle that is reflected in the company's logo. Also visible within the triangle of the logo is one person caring for another; this represents the meaning of the company name. "Accura" is Latin, meaning to take care of or to give attention to.
