New Year, New Goals! Is Getting Your MA LTC (License to Carry) One of Them?

If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to obtain your Massachusetts LTC, it’s time to take the first step—sign up for a Massachusetts Fi****ms Safety Class!

I offer Basic Home Firearm Safety Classes, which can even be taught in the comfort of your living room.

🕒 Class Details:

Duration: 5.5–6 hours (varies by group size and the hands-on practical portion)

Next Steps: Once you complete the class, you can apply through your local Police Department for an LTC (License to Carry) or FID (Fi****ms Identification Card).

This is a non-live fire: Live fire can be added based on your town’s requirements or personal preference.

MA – LTC (License to carry) changes to licensing

A few weeks ago, the Massachusetts Governor signed over a hundred pages of new fi****ms laws into law. Some parts have already gone into effect, and the licensing part was supposed to go into effect on August 1st, however, the new materials have not been produced to meet the new requirements. Late Friday the Mass State Police fi****ms licensing office put out an email to all State Instructors that we may still instruct with the current materials and people can apply with existing certificates. Once the new materials are available a person seeking a license will be required to meet the new requirements before being able to apply. We have not been given a timeline, but we know it is a limited amount of time to continue to teach and receive an LTC under the old rules.

The class runs 5 to 5 1/2 hours depending on the group size and the time taken for the hands-on practical portion. Once you have completed the class you then apply through your local Police Department.

This is a non-live fire class; live fire can be added if you prefer or need it based on your own town’s rules.

Spring is here and it is time to set up your Massachusetts fi****ms safety class for your LTC (License to Carry). If you would like to get your MA LTC the first step is taking an approved safety class.
I teach Basic Home Firearm Safety Classes. The class can be taught right in your living room.

Take charge of your family’s safety and get the basic knowledge and skills to safely handle or store fi****ms and ammunition in your home.

Find a few friends and I will bring all the equipment needed to put on a Massachusetts approved Fi****ms Safety class in your home. The class is the NRA’s Basics of Home Fi****ms Safety. We will go over the basics of safe handling of handguns, rifles, and shotguns. A portion of the class will be spent handling multiple types of fi****ms. Once completed you can apply to your local police department for an LTC (license to carry) or an FID (firearm identification).

This is a non-live fire class and takes 4 ½ to 5 hours.
