I’ve been reading the Ramayana for a little while now. I’d put it down for a bit then pick it up again. Now that I need to be off my feet, I was drawn to pick it up again and I’m so glad I did.
The Ramayana is based on Hindu mythology and is ultimately a story of good vs evil/light vs dark. I couldn’t help but compare this story to what’s going on in our country and the world right now.
(I could share more about what led me to start reading the Ramayana and my spiritual journey but this post would be pages long)
As someone who works in the healing and wellness industry, I feel that I can’t avoid this any longer. I’m angry and heartbroken by what’s going on.
For me, it’s important that I don’t ignore the current events. At the same time, it’s important that I work on staying centered, grounded and present for those little moments of joy in the day to day because I can’t live and function in a constant state of rage.
So the pendulum swings.
Please be patient and kind to yourself and know that you’re not alone as we all navigate this timeline.
