I’m proud to announce that Ottobock has a new casting technique for their C-brace, the only microprocessor Knee Ankle Foot Orthosis available. There are only 2 companies that have been trained in this technique in the US. Next Step Prosthetics Wisconsin is one of them!!! We can skip a few steps and get you back on your feet much faster! This brace was only available to the public if you paid cash considering the only companies covering them were the VA and work comp. It’s NOW covered by Medicare and we’ve done over 15 trials since January. This brace is working very well for people with MS, post polio, CVA, spinal cord injuries, etc. If you have weakness in your leg(s) which causes your knee(s) to be weak or give out, give us a call. Thank you so much Zach with Blatchford US for bringing the Elan IC to demo. This is the first and only waterproof microprocessor foot. It provides active ankle motion for better ground compliance. Keeping your foot flat on the ground provides better support and balance.

At we had the pleasure of working with a family for their child’s first prosthesis. A lot of children are born with a missing limb but it’s important to know that it certainly can lead to a normal life with prosthetic usage. In prosthetics, it is a good thing to start early with a prosthesis to develop proper habits, establish balance, figuring out how to use the device as a tool. In Tatum’s case, he wanted to use it to slam dunk.

From a 3D printed socket, to a carbon laminated lightweight socket it has been a treasure to watch Tatum’s development. We are so happy for Darby and Tatum!

We pride ourselves on assisting any patient that has had any difficulty with their prosthetic or orthotic device. Gregory’s problem with his prosthesis was his socket wasn’t fitting well and had caused him to be uncomfortable walking. Two appointments later he goes from a socket that is painful even in 12 ply socks, down to fitting comfortably with 0 sock ply. Suddenly that pain he had was gone and now able to walk in comfort.

We are very proud of Gregory and his new path to being able to walk without discomfort in his prosthesis. Let’s ditch all those socks! All smiles from him and us! We’re looking forward to designing the final socket. More to come!
