Dear Residents and Families,

We are pleased to introduce Dr. Adam Hills, a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) who will be providing care within our skilled nursing facility.

Dr. Hills specializes in helping patients recover function, improve mobility, and enhance overall quality of life following illness, injury, or surgery. His approach focuses on the whole person, not just on a specific condition, with the goal of helping each patient regain as much independence as possible. A physiatrist like Dr. Hills works closely with the care team including physical, occupational, and speech therapists to guide and optimize each resident's rehabilitation plan.

Some of the key benefits of physiatry in this setting include:
• Personalized Rehabilitation Plans – Dr. Hills evaluates each resident's unique needs and develops a tailored plan to improve strength, mobility, and daily function.
• Pain Management – He uses a variety of non-surgical approaches to help control pain, allowing residents to participate more fully in therapy.
• Improved Functional Outcomes – By focusing on restoring independence, physiatry helps residents safely return to their prior level of function whenever possible.
• Care Coordination – Dr. Hills collaborates closely with nursing staff, therapists, and other providers to ensure seamless, goal-oriented care.
• Prevention of Complications – Early and proactive rehabilitation can help prevent issues such as deconditioning, falls, and hospital readmissions.
