March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month — and early detection saves lives.
Colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable cancers with routine screening, yet too many cases are caught too late because symptoms often don’t appear in early stages.
The American Cancer Society recommends screening beginning at age 45 for those at average risk — earlier for individuals with higher risk factors.
Awareness starts with conversation. As a community, we can:
• Encourage preventive screenings
• Promote preventive care discussions
• Foster a culture that values overall wellness
