I just had a full body skincare check. Honestly, I can’t remember the last time I had one of these which means it’s probably been 10 years. Which is very sad coming from me an aesthetician.
I was concerned with some areas on my face. As well as my legs.
She said some of the areas on my face are inflammation, scar tissue, and then just enlarged oil glands. But no skin cancer that I need to be aware of.
She recommended coming back to get those areas zapped off. Some of those things would be covered by insurance and some would not.
But, because of the holiday season, I decided to wait till next year to do those.
I also have some weird spots on my legs and she thinks it’s just unfortunately like a circulation issue with my legs, which is not a surprise to me.
Melanoma is most common on the legs for women because we forget to apply enough spf esp on the backs of the legs.
Yearly in your 20s start doing a dermatologist full body skin check. Possibly more often if skin cancer runs in your family.
My dad has had various things removed on his head /body starting probably in his late 50s.
Ideally, I don’t want to have to have any skin cancer removed so that’s why I am adamant on wearing a hat, sunglasses, and SPF.
I also learned many years ago that Irish people have a higher chance of having skin cancer. I’m a quarter Irish.
