Grantee Spotlight! Panhandle Home Health Receives Healthcare Grant.

Being able to provide in-home healthcare to their patients, regardless of their ability to pay, resulted in care that was life-changing for the recipient.
Panhandle Home Health recently treated a patient that underwent emergency surgery and was then discharged from the hospital with surgical wound care needs. The patient qualified for this program and a nurse was able to treat the patient’s wound, thereby preventing infection and any re-hospitalizations. Patient education in wound care by the nurse alleviated the patient's fear and the social worker connected the patient with available resources in the community to establish routine medical care.

🎉 Happy 13-Year Anniversary, Susan!

" Working at Panhandle home health allows me the opportunity to be able to assist those that are ill or in need of healthcare at home and in my community with helping them to recover in the peace of their home with their family.

The most rewarding part of my job is when the patients improve in their understanding and knowledge of their medications and conditions within increased clarity. When they have increased strength and energy from our physical, speech and physical therapy teams teach teaching them exercises they can do in the comfort of their own home to help improve their balance energy level and improve their functional status.

At panhandle home health they always work with me in the flexibility of my schedule and my family’s needs. They care about our safety whether it is impatient homes or bad weather.

I feel incredibly grateful to be able to work with the people within our communities to promote their well-being and recover from the comfort of their home and sharing my knowledge of their conditions and medications with them and experiencing their improvement with their health and recovery with them. It is very rewarding knowing you have had a part in helping someone in their recovery."
