Jesus's answer to forgiving 'up to 7 times' was '77 times,' signifying completion, not a literal count. True forgiveness, as Reverend Galen McDowell explains, means looking back at the situation with no emotional attachment, allowing you to move on. If anger surfaces when recalling an event, there's still work to be done.

Inspired by one of my sister ministers at UUMS - Unity Urban Ministerial School. Every time I read this before recording an episode, it lands a little deeper. It keeps me grounded, focused, and connected to the message. Some words don’t just inspire you — they stay with you and walk beside you.

You keep holding back what you really want to say…

And it’s costing you.

Your voice is not random.
It’s assigned.

Power speaks.
Clearly.
Honestly.

So say the thing.
Set the boundary.
Tell the truth.

Respectfully… but fully.

Many people avoid forgiveness, fearing it's something else entirely. In an exercise, most couldn't even name 10 people they needed to forgive. Even fewer forgave themselves first. The Bible and spiritual studies remind us: for anything to truly pass through us, we must start by forgiving ourselves. It's an inside job.

I was told I couldn't be a minister. Those doubts, once planted in my subconscious, needed to be forgiven. Holding onto negativity only held me back. Releasing it allowed me to become who I am today.

Let’s be honest…

You’re not living your full life.
You’re living a managed version of it.

Safer.
Smaller.
More acceptable.

But Power doesn’t shrink.
Power expands.

So the real question is:
What would your life look like if you stopped managing… and started expressing?

That’s the shift.

Forgiveness is complete when emotions no longer attach to a past situation. If anger or pain resurfaces when recalling it, there's more work to do. True forgiveness allows learning, growth, and evolution without forgetting. Remember to return to your core principles daily.

You don’t need to start something new.

You need to finish something old.

Because unfinished energy drains power.

Close the loop.
Complete the task.
Follow through.

That’s authority in action.

Let’s kill this lie…

You’re not behind.
You’re just comparing.

And comparison will steal your power faster than failure ever will.

Your path is your path.

Move at your pace.
But don’t stop moving.

For those comfortable with the Bible, it's a guide. For others, take out the religiosity, and it's a powerful instruction manual. As Proverbs 23:7 says, 'As he thinks in his heart, so is he.' This season, we reflect on forgiveness, both for ourselves and others, understanding our fears lead to crucifixion.
