Join the Morgan County Health Department, Health by Design, and state agency partners on June 3rd for an Active Living Workshop at the Morgan County Administrative Building. 💦☀️ Water Safety PSA ☀️💦
Did you know swimsuit color can impact how visible a child is in the water? These images show how some colors are much easier to see in pools and lakes than others.
👀 Bright neon colors like orange, yellow, and lime green are often easier to spot underwater and from a distance, while colors like blue, gray, white, and dark shades can blend into the water.
As summer approaches, keep water safety in mind:
✅ Choose bright, high-visibility swimwear
✅ Always actively supervise children around water
✅ Use life jackets when appropriate
✅ Remember—drowning can happen quickly and quietly
A simple choice, like swimsuit color, can make a difference. Stay safe, Morgan County! 💙

☀️ Memorial Day Weekend Water Safety Reminder 💦
As warmer weather approaches and families head to pools, lakes, and waterways, the Morgan County Health Department encourages everyone to make water safety a priority this holiday weekend.
Did you know:
• Two-thirds of drowning deaths occur between May and August
• Boys account for 3 out of 4 child drowning deaths
• Many children who drown were missing for fewer than 5 minutes
👀 A few simple reminders can help keep everyone safe:
✅ Always supervise children around water
✅ Use life jackets when appropriate
✅ Secure pools with barriers and locked gates
✅ Never assume someone else is watching
Let’s work together to keep this summer safe for everyone. 💙

💚 A.I.D. — Awareness. Interaction. Direction.

Building a stronger community starts with understanding how to support one another. We’re proud to continue learning ways to reduce stigma, increase awareness, and better help those in need.

Today we wore green for Mental Health Awareness as part of Morgan County Goes Green. 💚

Thank you to Jordyn Galyan, Sara Kleber-Lowery, and our partners at the Morgan County Mental Health Task Force for leading this important training.

💚 May is

Join us for the Morgan County Goes Green challenge on Friday, May 15!

Mental health matters—locally and nationally. In Morgan County, many residents report loneliness, stress, and a lack of support, which is why coming together is so important.

Wear green to show your support and help raise awareness—every small action makes a difference. 💚

May is , and we invite you to join us for the second year of our Morgan County Goes Green challenge on Friday, May 15! 💚

Did you know that one in five Americans will experience a diagnosable mental health condition this year? In Morgan County, 19% of adults report frequent mental distress, 34% report feelings of loneliness, and 23% report they lack social and emotional support.

Mental health is important, and by joining together, we are advocating for mental health.

As the official color for mental health awareness, green represents renewal, hope, and vitality. Wearing green, whether it’s a complete outfit, a simple green awareness bracelet or lighting up our building, symbolizes unwavering support for mental health.
