Every single machine on this list has it's purpose. Just because a machine isolates a muscle doesn't make it "useless" at all!

I hear a ton of people talking about how you can't get a good workout at Planet Fitness, because they don't have free weights.

First of all, this is not an advertisement for Planet Fitness. The point of this post is to show you that you can get a good workout anywhere!

Planet Fitness doesn't have a free barbell. They have weighted barbells, but there is no option to add weight. So, this is usually where the complaint comes in.

First of all, to the new gym-goer, this will not be an issue for you. Barbells are great, but I've seen way too many people ego-lift and hurt themselves.

Honestly, there are so many things that you can do, without Barbells, it's insane! Planet has dumbells which are my go-to!

Barbells have their place, but they definitely aren't needed for a "good" workout.

If you think outside the box, and use cables or dumbells, to work the same muscles targeted in your favorite barbell exercise, you'll have an awesome workout.

*There are exceptions for athletes training Barbell specific sports like powerlifting. Even then, Powerlifters could still occasionally train without a barbell!

Here goes nothing!

Again, I'm here to spread awareness! There is so much garbage out there. With that being said, I'm here to prevent people from wasting their time and money on these bogus products/programs!

So, today let's just clear the water.

First, there is nothing more discouraging than being loaded with motivation, and getting zero results from these products.

So, what do you need to know?

If something sounds too good to be true, IT IS!! There are no pills, liquids, "super"foods or any other product that will be a game changer. There's no amount of a vitamin, mineral, herb, superfood (blah blah blah) that will out-work your bad diet.

Step 1 to any effective program is to set a calorie goal, and stick to it as much as you can! I'm happy to help anyone setup a calorie goal! Just reach out to me!

As many of you know, I recently started an automotive business! This has been a challenging new adventure!

Due to this new schedule, I'm not as available for in person sessions. However, I will have availability!

My goal for this platform is to tackle all the garbage fitness advice! More than I have in the past! Stay tuned 🤣

With my schedule, I am unable to take on any additional in-person training clients at this time!

However, I will continue to train the clients I currently have in-person!

Remember, I do offer online training, which will likely be my only form of fitness training in the future! You can always sign up for online coaching!

If I had to pick one, which would be more important!? I get this question so often, and I figured I'd address it in a post!

Here's the deal, there are many ways to reach your goal, regardless of what the goal is! You can have an okay diet, with great workouts, and reach your goals! You can also have an awesome diet, with okay workouts, and reach your goals! Obviously, we want the best of both, when I work with clients! BUT if I was to choose one, I'd say my pick would be diet! Here's why.

Dieting is the most common thing people screw up! It's super easy to eat whatever you want! But when you eat, to meet a macro/ calorie goal, things change! Diet is one of the factors where a little change can go a really long way!

So, I hate this question, because you need to focus on both equally, but if I had to choose, I would pick a diet every time! Especially for someone just looking to lose weight!

Trying to burn body fat, but don't know where to start? Consider this!

I always tell people they have two options. They can either cut calories, through dieting or exercise. However, one may be better for each person!

When considering which one to do, think about yourself for a minute. Do you like to eat? Is your calorie intake already extremely low? If so, we can add exercise to achieve the same goal. On the other hand, you may have plenty of calories, and have room to make some serious calorie cuts. If this is you, consider decreasing your calorie intake, when you hit a plateau!

Of course, you could always do both! You could cut a little calories, through dieting, while adding exercise as well! Here's the deal....When your goal is fat loss, there are several different ways to accomplish that goal! You just have to figure out what works best for you and your lifestyle! We don't want crazy low calorie diets, or several hour long cardio sessions! Keep it enjoyable!

Diets are really pretty simple! It's simple to stay with in your calorie goals, once you get the hang of how it all works!

BUT the challenge is your brain!

Your mind will tell you to eat things you shouldn't. It will tell you you're hungry, when you just finished eating. It will make you feel like you have to have that pizza, or donut, or else your life will be over!

Seriously though! The tough part is fighting that mental struggle in your head. Dieting is easy, but you just have to commit, and be willing to fight those mental games!

If you mess up, it's not over! Get back on the program, and everything will be fine!

So many people expect results to come overnight, but that's not how this works! It's the consistent effort and reevaluation of yourself that brings the results! BIG BAD MEAN SCARY CARBS RIGHT? 😱 No! BUT it got your attention! Carbs are demonized, for no reason! Carbs are a huge part of your body's energy production! Carbs are also the main source of energy, for your brain! Fiber is a carbohydrate! There are numerous benefits of fiber, like digestive health, controlling blood sugar levels, and potentially lowering cholesterol!
There are several different sources of carbs! I have listed some above! Being completely transparent here, Donuts are a carb source for me sometimes! They are delicious, and I could not live without them! ❤❤❤
Anyways, where were we? 1g of carbs has 4 calories! Please don't be afraid of carbs! All the hype about low carb, or "keto," is simply that.....HYPE. You should never eliminate an entire macronutrient! They are there for a reason! Eat your carbs, just make sure they are within your daily macronutrient goals! 💪💪💪
