Last week, our community came together to remember lives lost and to stand together in awareness, prevention, and hope. 💜

As we recognize Fentanyl Awareness Day, we’re sharing moments from our memorial event — not just to reflect, but to remind ourselves why this work matters so deeply.

Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid that is now involved in the majority of overdose deaths across the United States. It is often mixed into other substances without a person’s knowledge, making it especially dangerous — even a very small amount can be deadly.

This isn’t just a national issue — it’s impacting families, friends, and young people right here in our community.

Today, we honor those we’ve lost.
We stand with those who are grieving.
And we commit to continuing this work — through education, connection, and access to resources that save lives.

If you or someone you know is at risk:
• Carry naloxone
• Never use alone
• Test substances when possible
• Talk openly about the risks

Together, we can reduce stigma, spread awareness, and protect our community.

💜 Take a moment today to remember, to learn, and to share.

We invite the community to a Fentanyl Awareness Day Event tonight at New College Institute - Baldwin Building.

During this event, we will be screening a documentary that follows three people —a firefighter, a judge, and a nonprofit leader—as they work on the front lines responding to opioid use and overdose. The film highlights both the realities of addiction and the strength of community response.

This screening will be followed by a panel discussion and memorial ceremony remembering and honoring those we have lost to overdose.

Join us tonight as we express a shared commitment to remembering, learning, and supporting one another as a community.

Please note that this film may not be suitable for young children.

🌸 Let's Spring Into Wellness!

Spring is the perfect time to reset, refresh, and refocus on your wellness. As the days get longer and everything begins to bloom, it’s a reminder that growth takes time — and small steps can lead to big change.

Here are a few simple ways to embrace wellness this season:

🌷 Get outside and enjoy fresh air and sunshine for at least 10 minutes each day

🥗 Add more fresh fruits and vegetables to your meals aiming to consume 5 servings daily

🚶🏽‍♀️ Move your body in ways that feel good for at least 30 minutes daily

💧 Stay hydrated as temperatures rise focusing on consuming at least 64 oz of water daily

🧘🏽‍♀️ Take a few minutes each day to reset your mind using journaling or meditation

Just like spring, your wellness journey is all about growth, renewal, and progress — not perfection.
