With deep sadness, we announce the passing of William "Bill" McKinley Hairston on January 26, 2026 at the age of 81. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He was born in Henry County, VA a son of the late Price and Goldie Stockton Hairston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Celia F. Hairston.
Bill as he was called, was a graduate of G. W. Carver High School class of 1962 and was a United States Air Force veteran. He was retired from E. I. DuPont and was the owner of his own trucking company for 20 plus years. He was also a member of the American Legion, Homer Dillard Post # 78.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Tina W. Hairston, of the home; three sons, Bishop Michael (Auntina) Hairston, of Eden. NC; and Eric (Anica) of Houston, TX; and Ralph Wiggins, of Martinsville, VA; one daughter, Taneka Hairston, of Sanford, NC; two sisters, Rosemarie (Nathan) Morrison and Janice (James) Morrison both of Martinsville, VA; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 6, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Moral Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Waddell Jones, officiating. Burial will follow at a later date. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral and will be at the home at other times at 1507 Stoney Mountain Road, Martinsville, VA. A public viewing is being held today, Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Hines Funeral Services.

Due to the upcoming inclement weather, the memorial service for Larry B. Dickerson have been cancelled. Services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Sharon Grove Baptist Church at 1:00 PM.,

Hello friends..... Today is election day and we would like to encourage everyone to exercise their right to vote. There is power in numbers. Make your voice heard,
Also there is a lot of talk about food shortages in the community. Remember to check on your neighbors and friends, especially the elderly. The holiday season can be especially difficult for those who have lost loved ones. Keep them on your radar and be a support.

HELLLO FRIENDS! My staff and I would like to thank each and every one who participated in some form or fashion, in our 25th anniversary celebration. Special thanks to our guest speakers, sponsors, volunteers and last but not least, to those of you who came out in support.
It was a very successful enjoyable and knowledgeable event.

Also special thanks to those who sent out the many thoughtful birthday wishes. They were greatly appreciated.
