Clinical indications:
A-Type 2 diabetes:
May be used as an adjunctive agent or alternative monotherapy for patients in whom initial therapy with lifestyle intervention and metformin failed or those who cannot take metformin.
May be preferred in patients who have or are at risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease
when weight loss is desired, and/or in patients with an HbA1c relatively far from goal (eg, HbA1c 9% to 10 %) .
B-Weight management:
For use as an adjunct to diet and exercise in patients with a BMI ≥30 kg/m2, or in patients with a BMI ≥27 kg/m2 and ≥1 weight-associated comorbidity (eg, hypertension, dyslipidemia).

30 Ibs in 10 weeks!
At 5 5, my start weight is a BMI of 30-obese. CW of 150 puts me at a BMI of 25.
GW is 135-140. Age 48.
I'm very private, especially about Mounjaro because people can be judgy and it almost feels like cheating! But I'm going out on a limb and sharing photos on the internet. yikes.
Feeling great, can't wait to get new labs -I'm willing to bet my A1C is normal, no longer prediabetic (5.7 at last check).
I'm not following a special diet, just not overdoing any of it. I am convinced I had become insulin resistant, gaining about a pound a month over the last couple of years. I blame SSRIs (which I'm now off), the pandemic, menopause, and/or a lifetime of the binge/ restrict cycle because I always thought I was too fat (I wasn't. Who knows. But the weight would not budge no matter what. I was becoming miserable and my health was beginning to suffer. I clearly kept most of it around the belly which I was often able to hide with tunic tops, so I don't even know if anyone has noticed. My kids certainly haven't mentioned it and I don't talk about it much because I don't want them to get weird about food and body image.
I now feel like a normal eater, no longer obsessed with food. That's the real miracle here!

My 50-week journey with Ozempic! Blood sugar is now in the normal range and my BMI is SO close - went from 37% to a smidge over 25%. I also lost a gallbladder in the process but overall, I'm so much healthier (and happier!) and I even have energy to go to the gym. My body doesn't hurt all the time.
