We're thrilled to share the success of our 'Stuff the Bus' event held in August! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we collected a mound of school supplies for local students.

This past week, we were thrilled to deliver boxes overflowing with school supplies to the Arlington School District. These supplies will directly support students in need, providing them with the tools they need to thrive in the classroom. At Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital, we believe in investing in the future of our community. Education is a cornerstone of success, and we're excited to help Arlington School District students get a head start to the year! 🎉

☀️🍔 Taking a trip down memory lane to our annual Summer BBQ 2025 in August! What a fantastic afternoon filled with laughter, sunshine, and team bonding. It's moments like these that remind us of the incredible compassion and dedication each member of the Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital team brings to helping our community with their mental health.

We enjoyed delicious food prepared by our amazing kitchen staff, got creative with tie-dying shirts, and simply relished spending quality time together under the summer sun. These memories reflect the strong community we've built here at Smokey Point. Thank you to everyone who made it so special! At Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital, we recognize the importance of taking time to rest and recharge. Some of our staff will be off today to enjoy a well-deserved break. August 31 marks International Overdose Awareness Day—a day to remember those lost, to grieve with families and communities, and, most importantly, to bring attention to the ongoing reality of overdose that affects lives every single day.

According to the WA State Department of Health, Opioid and Drug Use Data Dashboard, in 2024 there were 17,058 suspected opioid overdoses in Washington state alone. This number does not include overdoses from other types of drugs. The impact is staggering and serves as a somber reminder of the urgent need for awareness, education, and support.

Substance use disorder is a complex challenge, but no one has to face it alone. Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital stands as a source of support, offering co-occurring treatment for individuals with both a mental health diagnosis and substance use disorder, including detox services.

If unsure where to begin on the road to recovery, reach out or walk in for a free mental health and substance use assessment. Every step toward recovery matters, and support is available.

Check out some of the pictures from our adventures at the Evergreen State Fair this week! We had an amazing time participating in Healthy Communities Day, where organizations dedicated to health and wellness come together to connect with fair attendees, share resources, and highlight the support available in our community.

We had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people and families, engaging in important conversations about mental health and the support we offer. It was inspiring to see how many individuals are seeking guidance and resources for their mental health journey.
