For all of my patients who love to travel! There is a body scanning device being used at DTW that requires you to remove your hearing aids, this was a first for me!

If you have to remove your hearing aids be sure to tell the TSA agents that you are hard of hearing and may not be able to understand them while your hearing devices are out. Also be sure to secure them in a safe spot in your carry on for easy retrival.

Defibrillators, pace makers, and glucose monitors are also affected by this technology.

Hearing is so important!! It not only connects us to the world around us but also plays a big part in our overall health and well-being. This article provides great insight into one of the many potential benefits of treating hearing loss with hearing aids.
