We are excited to welcome Donna Smalley to the Thriving Together team as our Administrator. With years of experience in customer service, administrative duties, and working with vulnerable populations, she is the perfect fit! Donna is an avid reader, devoted grandmother, and always supportive mom (owner Elizabeth's mom to be exact 😊)

Donna made it a point to notice folks with disabilities and talk positively about them with her kids. From pointing out someone's hard work, encouraging her kids to have conversations with folks, to answering the normal questions little kids naturally have, Donna led by example for her kids. This laid the groundwork for Elizabeth's desire to work with folks with disabilities & start Thriving Together.

Today kicks off a week of growth at Thriving Together! Some of you may have already had the joy of meeting Jodi Oberdier, who has been covering Elizabeth's maternity leave. We are overjoyed to announce that Jodi is sticking around!

If you have not had the pleasure of meeting Jodi, we hope you get the chance to soon. She is a homeschooling mom, 4-H advisor, farm gal, and gives so much back to the communities she is involved in. Over the past 3 months of getting to know Jodi she has shown herself to be hard working, diligent, creative, hilarious, supportive, and fun!

Happy 1 year anniversary to our lead DSP, Amanda Parker! With us since the company opened, Amanda has been supporting folks to get out into their community, trying new things, and exploring their passions!

Amanda is an amazing baker, plant enthusiast, crochets, and loves the outdoors. She is also very creative which has been a great benefit for the folks we serve! If someone has a special interest or something they would like to try Amanda works hard to help make opportunities for them to explore!

We continue to be so proud of Nancy, Anna, & Jill's hard work!

Meet our August 🌟Spotlight Volunteers🌟, Nancy, Anna & Jill! These incredible ladies have been volunteers with Neighbor to Neighbor for one year. They complete a very important task for us every month: printing, folding, stuffing, addressing, stamping, and mailing our newsletter to members! This means they have completed over 600 newsletters!! Nancy, Anna, & Jill also volunteer at 2nd Chances Thrift Store in Marysville where they hang clothes on the racks and at the Hope Center’s Mobile Market in Magnetic Springs where they help hand out food. When asked about volunteering in the community, Nancy said, “I am a hard worker. I like doing God’s work and helping other people.”

Nancy Anna, & Jill volunteer with Neighbor to Neighbor as part of a partnership with Thriving Together, LLC., who provides community integrated adult day services to individuals in Union County. Thriving Together LLC’s mission is to support individuals with disabilities to cultivate meaningful relationships and connections in their community. “We love being a part of the community; if you see us out, say hi!” says Amanda Parker, staff at Thriving Together LLC. A little nugget about each lady: Nancy loves cats, Anna loves the local coffee shops, and Jill loves helping at 2nd Chances.

URGENT CALL TO ACTION!
In keeping up with current events, in this nonpartisan issue, the federal government is planning to cut funding for programs that help more than 40,000 people with disabilities in Ohio, risking the loss of important services that help them live safely and independently. Some familiar programs at risk are Disability Rights Ohio, The Ohio State University Nisonger Center, and The University of Cincinnati Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.
These programs support people with disabilities in every Ohio Congressional district and offer help with legal rights, self-advocacy, education, health, and housing. Losing these programs would hurt individuals, families, and service providers, all of the people whom county Boards of DD serve.
Here is what YOU can do: Tell your member of Congress not to cut the funding for these disability programs and to fully fund them to show that every person matters! You can do this by calling, emailing, sending a letter, or by using the link below to learn more and submit a message to your congressman.

We had a lovely time at the 2025 Uptown Food Crawl! You can't beat good food, friends, and community!
