What a way to end the summer! Residents, families, and staff enjoyed all the traditional tastes of summer at our Grandview Luau this past week. We had a tropical feast with kalua pulled pork, Pina Coladas, and Pina Colada cake.

The highlight was our entertainment after lunch, featuring Polynesian music and dance performed by the Meke Maidens. Their colorful costumes, feathers, leis, and beautiful smiles captivated everyone. They told stories through their movements and hand gestures, bringing immense joy to all who watched. Everyone is still raving about their performance.

We truly have so much fun here at Village Concepts of Marysville!

🌺 The theme of the summer at our Village Concepts Communities is definitely Aloha! 🌴 Our team at Village Concepts of Sedro-Woolley hosted their annual summer BBQ — Hawaiian-style! Everyone dressed to impress in colorful Hawaiian shirts and leis, and the residents even performed a fun chair hula dance. Check out some of the highlights below!

Mark your calendar, next Tuesday, 9/2, is our second memory cafe from 1-3 pm. This community event is geared towards those in a memory care journey, be it as caregivers, relatives or patients themselves. No purchase is necessary, we just want to hold space for those who maybe need to talk or relax among those in similar situations. We have partnered with Village Concepts Communities who will be providing lights refreshments and well as offering information.

🎉 Village Concepts of Milton hosted an amazing car show with the Gig Harbor Cruisers! Residents took a "cruise" down memory lane as they spent the afternoon with some pretty cool vintage cars and their owners 😍. Our friends from Village Concepts of Fairwood host a monthly Memory Care Café at The Brewmaster's Taproom 🍻. Residents join patrons for a round of bingo and some delicious root beer. This monthly event brings our memory care community together with neighbors and friends for meaningful connection, fun, and friendship. We can't wait to do it again next month! 💜

Summers at Village Concepts of Port Angeles are the best! ☀️ Our residents love strolling the walking paths of our 7 acres of park-like grounds and our shaded courtyard is the perfect place to chat with friends or have a BBQ picnic. Marketing Director Anthony says they often spot deer wandering through or blue heron taking a dip in their fish pond! If you stop by for a visit, don't forget to check out our majestic fountain (it's spectacular)! ⛲😍

Celebrating 50 Years of Village Concepts! At Village Concepts of Marysville ~ Grandview Village, residents and staff were excited to share in this golden anniversary. We started with the reading of our CEO's thankful message to kick of three wonderful days of celebration, and honoring his family owned business that has passed through three generations. Residents enjoyed Mango Bellini's and mocktails around the living room while taking photos with our giant banner and balloons. Our second day of celebration included a special meal of prime rib with all the fixings. And finally, today we finished out our week with live music with the Smith Brother's Band, anniversary cake, and champagne. Thank you to all who made our celebration so wonderful. Cheers to 50 more years of Village Concepts!

We hosted a Mother's Day Brunch to celebrate all the mom's that make our community so special. Colorful fresh flower centerpieces throughout the dining room, gave a perfect touch of Spring. Mimosa bar, french toast, fresh berries, plenty of bacon and sausage, chicken salad croissants, fancy tea and lemon cupcakes....who could ask for more? Happy Mother's Day from all of us at Village Concepts of Marysville ~ Grandview Village.

We celebrated Cinco De Mayo this week with residents and staff at Village Concepts of Marysville ~ Grandview Village. Residents enjoyed festive music, food, and margaritas. We were delighted that our resident, Pat, from her many trips to Mexico, shared her marionette senoritas to display and dance for us. Activity director, Teresa wowed us with her tortilla making skills as residents gave her 5 stars on quesadillas and chips and salsa tasting. "Muy Bien"

What a blast celebrating the Early Days of Rock N Roll! Grandview residents, visitors, and staff were movin' and groovin' to familiar songs from the 50's to the 90's. Everyone had such a great time; the sun was shining, the food was amazing, and chocolate milkshakes too! Thank you to Rick Cooper for his musical talents, and all of our guests for joining us.

📚 Congratulations to Ginger Zyskowski at Village Concepts of Marysville on her recent book publication! 🎉

In addition to being a talented writer, Ginger also leads Grandview’s music appreciation class and art projects. We are thrilled to celebrate her newest book, "Shattered: One Woman's True Story of Trauma, Coercive Control, and Survival"—a deeply personal and true account of kidnapping, control, and recovery after trauma.

Marketing Director Joanne says, “Our residents love hearing the firsthand account from Ginger herself. She reads for an hour at a time and plans to go cover to cover for those with visual difficulties. With her account so beautifully written, residents are left on the edge of their seats for the next reading.”

📖 "Shattered" debuted this past December on Amazon and is available at Barnes & Noble and Pegasus Books. Join us for a special reading and book signing on Saturday, April 5th, from 10 AM to noon. Mark your calendars—we can’t wait to see you there! ✍️

We celebrated a taste of Italian culture today at Village Concepts of Marysville ~ Grandview Village. "That's Amore" played in the background to set the atmosphere. Fettucine alfredo, breadsticks, Tiramisu, and wine were shared with wonderful friends. Residents relaxed in front of the big screen while touring the fascinating sights of Italy. "che bello!" (how beautiful).
