Being named one of Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals for five years in a row is something we’re proud of, but it’s our people who make it possible.

“I have been here for 4 years now, and I really enjoy the people I work with and the short commute to and from work. It’s nice to be a part of the team here, and that’s how I feel—like part of a team. I left a much bigger hospital in the St. Louis area and never felt that connection.”

Happy Nurses Week 2026! This year’s theme—The Power of Nurses—couldn’t be more fitting for the heart, skill, and compassion our nurses bring to every patient, every family, every day.

In March, our Chief Nursing Officer invited all Anderson Healthcare staff to put that power into words through a poetry contest—capturing what it truly means to be a nurse.

Poetry has a way of reconnecting us to what we feel but don’t always have time to say—those quiet moments of courage, empathy, and presence that define nursing.

As Robert Frost said, poetry is “when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.” What a beautiful way to honor the work our nurses do—work that’s filled with both emotion and purpose.

We received 12 incredible poems, each one a reminder of the strength and humanity behind the scrubs. Congratulations to Krystle Grinston, who was selected as our winner!

To everyone who entered—and to every nurse who shows up with steady hands and a caring heart—thank you. Your work changes lives, and our community is stronger because of you.

Join us in celebrating our nurses this week—leave a note of thanks or share a story about a nurse who made a difference for you. The power of nurses is real—and we’re grateful for it. https://bit.ly/3QOoX4J
