🎓 This weekend, our very own Riley Ridge will be graduating from high school! Riley is a CNA at Village Care Center and the daughter of our Business Office Manager, Kelsey Ridge.

After graduation, Riley will be continuing her healthcare journey at Missouri Western State University, where she received early acceptance into their BSN nursing program — an incredible accomplishment!

Riley has a heart of gold and is loved by both our residents and her coworkers. Her compassion, kindness, and dedication shine through every day, and we know she has a very bright future ahead in nursing.

Your compassion, dedication, and endless hard work make a difference in the lives of our residents and families every single day. Thank you for the long hours, the gentle care, the laughter, the comfort, and the strength you bring to our team. A few pictures from our recent weeks of fun. Michele always treats us so well. She had our monthly ladies group and brought donuts for the residents this week. We had our monthly bingo store, celebrated May Day and handed out baskets to everyone. We celebrated Cinco De Mayo yesterday and enjoyed some delicious tacos, rice, and corn for lunch. (Everyone was too busy eating and we didn’t snap a picture) Lastly we made paintings with pop bottles. Pop bottle flowers 💐

Post #1: What Does Medicare Actually Cover?

Understanding Medicare can feel overwhelming—but we’re here to make it simple.

💡 Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) helps cover:
✔️ Short-term skilled nursing care
✔️ Rehabilitation services (physical, occupational, speech therapy)
✔️ Hospital stays
✔️ Limited home health services

📍 Here’s the key:
Medicare is designed for short-term recovery, NOT long-term care.

👉 To qualify for skilled nursing coverage:
• You must have a 3-night hospital stay
• You must need skilled care (therapy or nursing)
• You must admit to a facility within a short time after discharge

⏳ How long does Medicare pay?
• Days 1–20: Covered at 100%
• Days 21–100: Daily copay applies
• After Day 100: Coverage ends
