Ken has been counseling those with substance addictions since 1982. Some of his first clients were adolescents and he found his true calling when he began working in the area of family therapy in 1989. Ken has extensive experience in both individual and group counseling settings and has suffered with and supported those who have experienced almost every emotion, tragedy, and heartbreak imaginable.

Ken launched his private practice in 1997, and Ken Thom Counseling was founded in 2007. Ken received his Master of Science-Counseling Psychology degree from Northwest Missouri State University. He was a certified substance abuse counselor from 1983 - 2000, and has served as president of the Missouri Substance Abuse Counselor Certification Board.
