Mildred stopped in at NCS today with one mission: to let us know her free shirt was simply not up to par. 👕

Normally, we’d roll out the red carpet for her critique, but sadly we were too busy addressing the far more pressing matter of Taylor & Travis’ romance 💚🎤🏈.

Apologies, Mildred — America can only handle one drama at a time… but rumor has it United Fiber has the bandwidth for yours. 📡

🌟 Meet Alyssa! 🌟

When she’s not working, you’ll find her drawing, reading, or dreaming of a beach getaway. ☀️🌊 Her biggest inspo? Her hardworking dad ❤️ And if you offer her BBQ chips or an iced latte—she’s in! 😋

🚨 Mildred Watch 2025 🚨

Mildred, if you’re out on parole after the Kris and Kates Ice Cream incident… swing by Hype Nutrition for a shake, breeze through NCS with your best “Have A nice day,” and we might just reward your rebellious politeness with a t-shirt. No promises. We don’t want to be told what to do either.

Mildred was banned from Kris & Kate’s yesterday after muttering “Have a nice day” when grabbing her order.

Our customers are free to come & go as these please, but at no point may they tell us what to do.

We wish everyone (except Mildred) a fantastic week!

NCS: Helping people live the life they want and reach their fullest potential through compassion, dignity and respect.

Nodaway County Services was started in 1980 when a few people realized we could do better for people with developmental disabilities. There were very little opportunities for people with disabilities in our area, other than a sheltered workshop. A great void existed in terms of residential services and supports to help people live a good life. After several years of planning, the first not for profit corporation, Association of Group Homes, was established with three group homes on September 24, 1984.

Wanting to go beyond housing, a second not for profit, Nodaway County Services, was formed and incorporated May 13, 1986. The core belief of both agencies has always been that it’s vital to recognize people as individuals and to support each person as an individual with their own unique gifts and needs.

Through the years we’ve built on that core belief, and strived to be a frontrunner in the business of helping people build a good life. We still offer residential services, that are more individualized than ever, through Independent Supported Living (ISLs). Our ISLs allow for more freedom and individualization than ever. We have a strong team of Support Mentors in our Person Centered Strategy Consultant Division who provide help and training to staff supporting individuals with behavioral challenges or transitional needs. Staff in our Customized Employment Division, NCS Works, provide development, assessment, job matching and coaching to help people achieve meaningful employment in real jobs for real wages. Our Targeted Case Management division provides essential planning, linking and monitoring services and act as hubs to help people receive services and reach their goals.

We love what we do, the people we serve, and the staff that make it all possible. We’ll continue to work hard to provide top quality supports for people to achieve our mission: helping people live the life they want and reach their fullest potential through compassion, dignity and respect.
