I consider Prayer to be communication with not only the Universe, but with God/Goddess/Father/Mother/Divine Source/Creator of all that is, Angels, Guides, Ancestors & Loved Ones who have passed, and many Light Beings. Meditation is clearing your mind so that you're able to listen and receive communication and answers from them,, in addition to looking inward. There's so much more to Prayer & Meditation! I love it!
